Smash Bros., known as Smash prior to Kirby: Planet Robobot, is a rare Copy Ability that debuted in Kirby & The Amazing Mirror. This ability allows Kirby to attack with his moveset in the Super Smash Bros. series, including all of his special moves (save for Inhale since Smash is a Copy Ability).

Kirby & The Amazing Mirror
In Kirby & The Amazing Mirror, the Smash Ability is obtained by swallowing the Mid-Boss Master Hand. The moves represented in this game are Kirby's neutral jab, neutral aerial, side special move, up special move, and down special move.
Next to Master, Smash is the second most versatile ability in this game. Smash Kirby can cut ropes, pound stakes and destroy metal blocks.
Notably, the Smash ability can be obtained by swallowing two Noddys and letting the Ability Mix roulette stop on its own in this game. This can be easily done in Candy Constellation - Room 7 before the Copy Ability Testing Area is unlocked.

Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition
Smash makes its first 3D appearance as one of the available Copy Abilities in the New Challenge Stages mode of Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition. It is usable in Smash Combat Chamber, Smash Combat Chamber EX, Magolor Race 3, and Magolor Race EX. Besides his moves returning from Kirby & The Amazing Mirror, Kirby gains a new move, Smash Kick, which comes from Fighter's moveset and acts as his forward smash attack in Super Smash Bros.

Kirby: Planet Robobot
This ability returns under its current name in Kirby: Planet Robobot, with an updated moveset based on Kirby in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U.
Kirby gains another new move in addition to all his previous ones; Air Drop, which comes from Ninja Kirby's moveset and acts as Kirby's up throw in Super Smash Bros. Additionally, Hammer Flip has been reworked to match its chargeable iteration from Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U. Smash Kick is also chargeable, again to reflect its use in the Super Smash Bros. series. Finally, the Guard in this version of the ability resembles the bubble shields used by most of the characters in the Super Smash Bros. series, though in this case, it can't break.

How to Obtain
Smash Bros. can be obtained only by scanning Kirby's amiibo (Super Smash Bros. series) into the game, finding its Copy Essence in one of the 5 Smash Bros. rooms, or using the Copy Ability Testing Area.
To obtain this ability in The Arena and The True Arena, the player must scan the amiibo. Kirby cannot obtain this ability from any enemy or the Ability Mix in this game.
Kirby's Dream Buffet
In Kirby's Dream Buffet, Smash Bros. Kirby appears on a Character Treat, using his artwork from Kirby & The Amazing Mirror. Notably, the treat lists the source game for the art as Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition, despite that artwork not appearing in the game. Smash Bros. does not appear as an ability in Kirby's Dream Buffet itself.

Trivia
- In Kirby & The Amazing Mirror and Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition, Smash Bros. Kirby swings his Hammer upward rather than downward, to mimic the way he attacks in the Super Smash Bros. series.
- In all appearances, Smash Bros. Kirby uses a silver hooked sword for Final Cutter rather than the usual gold cutter blade, again matching its Super Smash Bros. appearance
- In Kirby & The Amazing Mirror, Smash Kirby's Hammer Spin (9 damage) is more powerful than Hammer Kirby's (5 damage). In Kirby: Planet Robobot, however, both versions have the same power.
- Smash Bros. Kirby retains his Hammer Spin / Giant Swing in more recent movesets, despite not using that move in Super Smash Bros. Brawl or Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U.
- In Kirby Star Allies, the Hammer Flip attack of Hammer Kirby, Bonkers and King Dedede can be charged like the Kirby: Planet Robobot Smash Bros. version, but without the fire element. The same applies for Hammer Kirby and King Dedede in Kirby Fighters 2.
- The only truly unique move of Smash Bros. Kirby is Twinkle Star, as no other Copy Ability contains this attack. This move is Kirby's neutral aerial attack in the Super Smash Bros. series.
