Data was collected from traces of a giant flower the invaders stumbled upon. Cloning it produced the insect queen. Its data contains elements of creatures spanning a period of 1,000 years.
— Kirby: Planet Robobot Pause Screen description

Sectonia Clone is a surprise Boss encountered near the end of Meta Knightmare Returns in Kirby: Planet Robobot. It was created using remnants of Queen Sectonia's genetic material harvested from the Dreamstalk, and fights much like the late Queen.

Game appearances

Kirby: Planet Robobot

..Impressive. That may have been a bit too easy for the admin... Next up is one whose swordplay resembles a beautiful dance... Let us bring back the most powerful queen from the void. Experience her royal presence and unparalleled fighting skills. She will be a fitting test for you.
— Star Dream - addressing Meta Knight in Meta Knightmare Returns

After defeating Dark Matter Clone, Star Dream sets up the next challenge of "Sword_Master.EXE" for its new admin, Meta Knight. It brings out a tube containing the clone of Sectonia, and has him battle it.

Boss Fight

The following lists all of Sectonia Clone's attacks in Kirby: Planet Robobot.

Attacks - Phase 1
Attack Description
Warp
Sectonia Clone vanishes and reappears somewhere else on the stage.
Thrust
Sectonia Clone performs two sword swipes, then thrusts forward across the stage, leaving several stars in its path. The thrust will either take it up to the air, or along the ground.
Sword Dive
Sectonia Clone floats out of reach for a moment, draws its swords together, and dives the stage, swiping as it does so and leaving stars. This attack is repeated several times.
Rapid Jab
Sectonia Clone moves toward its target, rapidly thrusting its blades as it does so, then finishing with a large swipe that leaves stars.
Razor Ring
Sectonia Clone summons a large spinning golden ring with a sharp edge around itself, then moves gently across the stage with it.
Razor Disks
Sectonia Clone summons several large golden sharp disks from the background, and tosses them at its target. The last toss splits into two mid-flight.
Beam Shot
Sectonia Clone changes its swords into staves, and uses them to fire beam shots at its target. They leave stars if they hit the ground.

When Sectonia Clone is reduced to half health, it stumbles for a moment, then intensifies its assault.

Attacks - Phase 2
Attack Description
Warp Strike
Sectonia Clone vanishes, and starts warping at rapid speed, leaving vague imprints as it does so. It then appears and attempts to swipe. This attack is repeated several times, with the last one being feinted once or twice. The last strike leaves stars on impact.
Crystal Smash
Sectonia Clone changes its swords to staves, holds them high a moment, then brings them crashing down, creating a wave of red crystal that spreads across the stage. This also leaves stars on impact.
Razor Disks
Sectonia Clone summons several large golden sharp disks from the background, and tosses them at its target. The last toss splits into two mid-flight.
Sword Dive
Sectonia Clone floats out of reach for a moment, draws its swords together, and dives the stage, swiping as it does so and leaving stars. This attack is repeated several times.
Dark Lightning
Sectonia Clone changes its swords into staves and uses them to zap the floor with lightning that spreads out.
Thrust
Sectonia Clone performs two sword swipes, then thrusts forward across the stage, leaving several stars in its path. The thrust will either take it up to the air, or along the ground.
Beam Shot
Sectonia Clone changes its swords into staves, and uses them to fire beam shots at its target. They leave stars if they hit the ground.
Rapid Jab
Sectonia Clone moves toward its target, rapidly thrusting its blades as it does so, then finishing with a large swipe that leaves stars.

Once Sectonia Clone is defeated, it dissolves back into the purple goo from whence it was formed, collapsing tumultuously in on itself before exploding.

Other Appearances

Sectonia Clone is also fought by Kirby, just after Dark Matter Clone, in The True Arena.

Music

Main article: Sullied Grace

Sectonia Clone's Theme is titled Faded & Flower in the Japanese soundtrack. It's a muddy remix of Sullied Grace's second section (organ & electric guitar) from Kirby: Triple Deluxe.

Trivia

File:Sectonia Clone Final Blip.jpg
Sectonia Clone takes this form for a very brief moment before exploding. Note that the face, hairstyle, and horns all differ from Taranza.
  • While Sectonia Clone looks and acts practically identical to the original, there are some subtle differences between them. Unlike Queen Sectonia, who changes her staves into swords when necessary, Sectonia Clone does the opposite. The shine in its eyes is missing, and its voice is bit-crushed, similarly to Susie and President Haltmann. Most notably, the heart on the clone's thorax is split in two. Given the similar broken heart aesthetic on its creator, Star Dream, this similarity marks it as the computer's creation.
  • Since Meta Knight was not present in Kirby: Triple Deluxe, this was the first opportunity for him to battle anything resembling Queen Sectonia.
  • When defeated, the clone dissolves into the purple goo it once formed from. Much like how Dark Matter Clone briefly takes its true form before it explodes, Sectonia Clone briefly reveals its true form: a figure very similar to Taranza, but with various differences in design. In a Miiverse post, it was stated that Sectonia originally resembled her insectoid subjects before using magic to attain her final wasp-like form, so this is presumably what she originally looked like.
    • One of the Stone transformations in Kirby Star Allies depicts both Taranza and this Taranza-esque character, further indicating her being Sectonia's original form.
  • Sectonia Clone's pause description mentions that "its data contains elements of creatures spanning 1,000 years". This refers back to the pause screen description for Soul of Sectonia, which states that "she's fed off of countless hosts," implicitly referring to her parasitic nature.
