This Dedede double is made of powerful psychic energy. It's an illusion of the king based on memories of his embarrassing turn under ID-F86's control, forced to work for Leongar and capture Elfilin. It has no memory of Kirby or the adventures they've shared... It's a little more than a haughty, hollow husk.
— Figure description from Kirby and the Forgotten Land

Phantom King Dedede, titled His Illusory Nemesis, is a more powerful illusory form of King Dedede which appears as the boss of Forgo Horns in Kirby and the Forgotten Land, and can also be fought in The Ultimate Cup Z in the Colosseum. Phantom King Dedede looks and fights largely the same as its real counterpart, but has a different color scheme, now sporting teal skin with a purple coat with cyan fluff and magenta feathers and belt, and eyes that match those of Fecto Forgo in its "Invasive Species" form.

AttacksEdit

Phantom King Dedede has all of the same attacks as its normal counterpart, but it attacks significantly faster and some of its attacks have new properties. It also has a few new attacks, and has more health than King Dedede, having 1,700 HP in Forgo Horns and 1,190 HP in the Colosseum. It transitions to the second phase once its HP reaches 50% of its maximum or lower, and takes 0.2X damage during phase transitions.[1] Phantom King Dedede is accompanied by six Primal Awoofies at the start of the battle, all of which are ordered to immediately rush Kirby as soon as the battle begins.

The following are all of Phantom King Dedede's attacks (attack names are from the Kirby and the Forgotten Land Perfect Support Guide). Attacks in italics are only used in Phase 2.

Phantom King Dedede's attacks in Kirby and the Forgotten Land
Attack Description Variants
ゴルドーノック
Gordo Knock
Phantom King Dedede throws three Gordos at Kirby in a line by batting them with its hammer. Phantom King Dedede may instead throw the Gordos out around itself in preparation for a series of Super Dedede Jumps.
ヘッドスライディング
Head Slide
Phantom King Dedede runs after Kirby and dives at him, producing two Dropped Stars on impact. It does this three times in quick succession.
ハンマーたたき
Hammer
Phantom King Dedede approaches Kirby with its hammer and, once close enough, slams down, creating a Dropped Star on impact. It alternates between this and Dedede Swing five total times.
デデデスイング
Dedede Swing
Phantom King Dedede approaches Kirby with its hammer and, once close enough, spins around laterally, creating a Dropped Star after the swing. It alternates between this and Hammer five total times.
スーパーデデデジャンプ
Super Dedede Jump
Phantom King Dedede makes a great leap into the air, then falls down, producing a shockwave on landing and causing a ring of Dropped Stars to appear around it. It may use this move up to three times in succession, with the last jump being a very high spinning one. If Gordos were batted onto the ground prior to this attack, the Gordos will produce shockwaves of their own if hit by Phantom King Dedede's own shockwaves. The shockwave from the third jump forcefully removes any Gordos on the ground out of the arena.
ゴルンバーノック
Gordo Bar Knock
Phantom King Dedede leaps over to a high ledge and throws three Gordo Bars at Kirby which roll across the arena. After throwing the Gordo Bars, the phantom grabs a pillar and then jumps back into the arena, either attacking with End of Ice Age or a Super Dedede Jump.
エンド オブ アイスエイジ
End of Ice Age
Phantom King Dedede slams the ground hard with its pillar, creating a fissure that spreads out from the impact and erupts with ice. The area of the eruption produces a slippery icy floor after the first instance of the attack. This attack can repeat either once or twice. After the first instance of the attack, Phantom King Dedede's swing targets Kirby's current position as it slams the pillar down.
NEW WORLDディザスター
NEW WORLD Disaster
Phantom King Dedede attacks with its pillar, slamming the ground and creating lots of Dropped Stars. This repeats five times, alternating between vertical and horizontal.
NEW WORLDアタック
NEW WORLD Attack
Phantom King Dedede attacks with its pillar, slamming the ground eight times in a row, producing Dropped Stars with each hit. After the last hit, Phantom King Dedede's pillar breaks and it jumps in the background to throw more Gordo Bars and get another pillar.
