Patch Castle is the first and only stage of Quilty Square. It is the tutorial stage for Kirby's Epic Yarn and Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn, and introduces the player to the controls and mechanics of the game. Patch Castle is also the inspiration for the first stage of Dedede Gogogo in Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn.

Overview[edit]

This stage takes place in Prince Fluff's royal castle. It starts off in front of the gates of Quilty Square. The tutorial signs teach the player how to jump and destroy both the empty and filled yarn blocks, swimming and climbing ladders. In the pond where swimming is taught a two-star bonus star can be found. Right after the first ladder a three-star bonus star can be found in the clouds above a Waddle Dee with spear.

The first treasure, the Chandelier, can be found on a platform reachable by a short ladder. Behind that platform, the tutorial teaches the player how to enter the green house and how to turn into a parachute. Behind the house, Patch Castle starts.

The second treasure, the King's Throne, can be found on one of the sides of the first swing with the swinging tutorial. After the ground pound tutorial a five-star bonus star can be found hiding behind a window to the left.

The third treasure, Patch Castle Soundtrack, can be found when following the beads at the car tutorial.

After beating this stage, Kirby and Prince Fluff are attacked by a giant blob of yarn in a cutscene, which is quickly defeated and yields a piece of the Magic Yarn. This unlocks the next level, Grass Land.
