Parasol Waddle Dees are recurring enemies in the Kirby series, first appearing in Kirby's Adventure. He is a variant of Waddle Dee who uses a Parasol, allowing him to float and sway gently down through the air. If swallowed with his parasol, Kirby gains the Parasol ability. If attacked and not defeated, a Parasol Waddle Dee can drop his parasol and become a regular Waddle Dee, while his parasol becomes a separate entity, either floating away, or becoming hostile in its own accord.

Parasol Waddle Dee is not always an enemy, however. In Kirby Super Star (Ultra), and Kirby Star Allies, a Parasol Waddle Dee can be a Helper, and playable along with Kirby. A Parasol Waddle Dee also appears as a playable fighter in Kirby Battle Royale, and is simply referred to as 'Waddle Dee'.

Kirby's Adventure/Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land

Parasol Waddle Dee debuted in this title. When attacked, the parasol breaks free, and either floats off, or actively chases Kirby once freed. Scoring is separate for the Parasol and the Waddle Dee. The Parasol is worth 20 points, and the Waddle Dee is worth 600 points.

Kirby's Dream Land 2

In this title, Parasol Waddle Dees carry Floaty the Drifters, as opposed to standard parasols. Otherwise, they act the same.

Parasol Waddle Dee can be recruited as a Helper in these titles. He is also playable in Helper to Hero. Once recruited as a Helper, Parasol Waddle Dee possesses all of the same parasol attacks as Parasol Kirby.

In Revenge of the King, some Parasol Waddle Dees can be seen also carrying Spears.

“You chose me? Great! Time to sing!”
The sun is shining! The parasol’s open! And it’s time for a stroll! That parasol is great protection, after all, and it lets him float sweet as a breeze.

Trophy Information

Name Image American English Description British English Description
Parasol Waddle Dee This citizen of Dream Land falls gracefully from the sky clutching a parasol. Waddle Dee itself is fairly harmless, but the parasol can deflect almost anything. Don't hurt yourself accidentally! Also, be careful if one releases its parasol—that floating umbrella can really sting! These little chaps from the Kirby series are really peaceful. In Smash Run, they use their parasols to float gently down to the ground. Their parasols will deflect almost anything, so you can use them as a trampoline, if you like! If a Waddle Dee lets go of its parasol, though, be careful - floating umbrellas are dangerous things!
