Octacon is a monster which first appeared in Kirby: Right Back at Ya!. It is a red octopus-like creature which can change size drastically, going from a small harmless-looking pet to a castle-sized fire-breathing titan. It appears in the first episode of the anime - Kirby Comes to Cappy Town - wherein it causes trouble for the village by eating their sheep at night, while disguising itself as King Dedede's pet to avoid capture.

Octacon is capable of swallowing creatures whole, and quickly digesting them down to the bones, which it will then spit out. Octacon is capable of living both in and out of water, and can fly through the air. It can also make many smaller copies of itself while in its large form, and can breathe fire. However, Octacon is also weak to fire, meaning Kirby can defeat it easily by reverting its flames back against it. One less-visible power of Octacon is its ability to hypnotize other creatures, turning their eyes green in the process. It uses this ability on King Dedede to send him into a blind rage and attack Kirby with his hammer.

Kirby Star Allies

Octacon makes its only video game appearance as a painting drawn by Adeleine in this title. Here, it flies forward, and attacks by puffing up.

Trivia

  • Octacon's name is a pun on the words 'octopus' and 'octagon'. The 'con' part may also be a hint as to the shady nature of Night Mare Enterprises' monster dealings, which are often fraudulent in nature.
