The Nintendo Entertainment System, often abbreviated as NES, is an 8-bit home console system first released in Japan on July 15, 1983. It was later redesigned and released worldwide, first in North America on October 18, 1985, and in Europe and Australia in 1987. It is most notable as the console that hosted the first games in now world-famous series such as Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda. One Kirby game was developed for it, Kirby's Adventure.
