Nintendo Direct is a series of broadcasted video presentations which Nintendo produces on a semi-frequent and irregular basis in order to promote specific games, consoles, events, or other products and services. These videos are typically posted for viewing on Nintendo's official web-site and/or their YouTube channel, and sometimes broadcasted live, often featuring senior members of the company and lead developers for games and other products as announcers, hosts, or guests. Often, Directs will have a specific theme, whether they be focused on specific consoles, a specific game or category of games, or tied in to a special event such as E3. The first Nintendo Direct was released in October 2011, with each subsequent year seeing at least a few presentations.
