Mumbies is an enemy in the Kirby series. It is a spherical, mummy-like creature wrapped in white bandages with a red or yellow eye in the middle. Mumbies' Template:Behavior is characterized by their attempts pursue and attempt to attack Kirby only when Kirby is not looking at the Mumbie. Their pattern of attacking is identical to Boos of the Mario series. Unlike most enemies, Mumbies cannot be inhaled, so Kirby must find another means to dispatch it.

Mumbies made a reappearance after a long absence in Kirby's Return to Dream Land. They were among the first enemies to be revealed, appearing in an early gameplay trailer. They would later go on to appear again in subsequent installments.

Trivia

• Mumbies in more recent titles behave very similarly to Boos from the Super Mario series. When Kirby is not looking in their direction, Mumbies will pursue him, but will hold still and hide their eyes when Kirby is facing them.
