Game appearances
Kirby's Dream Land
In Kirby's Dream Land, Mt. Dedede is the fifth and final stage. In this small stage, Kirby has to face all the previous bosses from the game (Whispy Woods, Lololo & Lalala, Kaboola and Kracko) again in any desired order by entering the door with the respective boss's picture on it. Before reaching each boss, however, Kirby must make his way through a small section of the level that boss was featured in, then touch a lingering copy of himself to make the door to the boss appear. Once all the bosses are defeated, Kirby is able to enter the picture of King Dedede in the middle of the room, starting a fight between with him, which takes place in a boxing ring.

In Kirby Super Star and its remake, Kirby Super Star Ultra, Mt. Dedede appears as the last stage of Spring Breeze, a remake of Kirby's Dream Land. Unlike in the original game, no Bosses have to be refought on Mt. Dedede. Instead, the stage consists of a small room containing a few enemies, each of which can provide Kirby with a Copy Ability, and a door that leads directly to the boss fight with Dedede. Like in Kirby's Dream Land, the fight takes place in a boxing ring, although it is considerably wider than in its first appearance. During the fight, several characters from the Mario franchise can be seen cheering in the audience, together with different enemies from the Kirby universe.
In Kirby Super Star Ultra, more of the castle is seen in The Revenge, where Kirby infiltrates it to once again stop King Dedede.

Trivia
- The music that plays in this stage would eventually become King Dedede's theme song. It would be remixed, expanded, and revamped several times over throughout the series.
