Mr. Frosty (sometimes misspelled Mr. Flosty) is a Mid Boss in the Kirby series. He appears in several games.

Appearance

Mr. Frosty is a white walrus-like creature. He wears black overalls with blue buttons (blue overalls with purple stripes in Kirby: Triple Deluxe) and icy blue shoes. Mr. Frosty has the same appearance in every Kirby game. He is occasionally recolored red or green.

In Kirby: Triple Deluxe, Mr. Frosty gets a deluxe form, known as Mr. Frosty DX. Now he is more of a vanilla color, with green feet. He has red overalls with yellow stripes. He now has a black mouth instead of a blue one.

Battle Style

In every game where he is fought, Mr. Frosty has the exact same battle pattern.

Mr. Frosty's attacks
Attack Description
Ice Throw
Mr. Frosty throws a block of ice in the direction of Kirby. The size of the block varies depending on the game.
Dash
Mr. Frosty dashes along the stage in an attempt to ram Kirby.
Body Slam
Mr. Frosty slams into Kirby, but is left defenseless on the ground for a while.
Swallow
Mr. Frosty swallows Kirby and spits him out in a block of ice.

Appearances in games

Kirby's Adventure/Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land

In Kirby's Adventure and its remake, Mr. Frosty appears as a normal Mid Boss. His battle style is the same as all the other games. He is first seen in the fourth door of the level Vegetable Valley.

Kirby's Dream Land 2

Acting exactly the same as in Kirby's Adventure (save for giving Ice instead of Freeze), the walrus reappears in Kirby's Dream Land 2. In Kirby's Dream Land 3, he is replaced by Yuki.

Kirby Super Star/Kirby Super Star Ultra

Mr. Frosty is a mid boss once again in Kirby Super Star (Ultra). He attacks the same way and is first fought at Float Islands.

Kirby and the Amazing Mirror

Mr. Frosty is still a mid-boss in Kirby and the Amazing Mirror. He can throw ice blocks of two different sizes. He is identical to his appearance in Nightmare in Dream Land.

Kirby: Squeak Squad

Mr. Frosty is a mid-boss in Kirby: Squeak Squad, and has the same appearance and attacks as his other appearances.

Kirby Air Ride

Mr. Frosty was going to appear in the Nintendo 64 version of Kirby Air Ride. He was seen riding an orange Warp Star. At that time, it was unknown if he was going to be playable or not. Mr. Frosty did not appear as a playable character in the GameCube version of the game.

Kirby: Triple Deluxe

Mr. Frosty returns as a mid-boss in Kirby: Triple Deluxe. Like the other bosses, he also has a DX form. He has a new attack, where he flies around the screen in a cyclone of snow. Despite this, he is arguably the easiest Mid-Boss to defeat in this game.

Kirby: Planet Robobot

Mr. Frosty is one of the opponents that must be faced in Team Kirby Clash. Here, he is much larger and with greater Vitality. He also can throw more than one ice block at a time, in an effort to hit multiple Kirbys.

Team Kirby Clash Deluxe

Enter the ice beast! Stamp out this nuisance before he freezes up the Grasslands!

Mr. Frosty returns in the expanded Sub-Game, appearing on three separate occasions to battle Team Kirby. New moves include elaborate acrobatics, quick icy spins, and the ability to swallow Kirbys.

Kirby Star Allies

Mr. Frosty as he appears in Kirby Star Allies.

Mr. Frosty was the first confirmed Mid Boss to appear in this game. He is somewhat larger than he has been in other main series titles, and has obtained new overalls which no longer have a hole in the rump. Mr. Frosty is also the only Mid-Boss in this title who cannot be recruited as a Friend. Attempting to do so will cause him to be replaced with Chilly instead.

Trivia

  • While Mr. Frosty is preparing ice to throw at Kirby, the unknown reader gets a good view of his rump, a characteristic of him that is shown in many Kirby games.
  • Due to a translation error, Mr. Frosty is misspelled Mr. Flosty in the American version of Kirby & the Amazing Mirror.
