Mr. Frosty is a recurring Mid-Boss in the Kirby series. He appears in several games, starting with Kirby's Adventure and continuing up to Kirby Star Allies. In Kirby's Adventure and its remake, when inhaled, Kirby gets the Freeze ability. In subsequent games in the series, however, when inhaled, Kirby gets the Ice ability.
Appearance
Mr. Frosty is a white walrus-like creature. He wears black overalls with blue buttons (blue overalls with purple stripes in Kirby: Triple Deluxe) and icy blue shoes. Mr. Frosty has the same appearance in every Kirby game. He is occasionally recolored red or green.
In Kirby: Triple Deluxe, Mr. Frosty gets a deluxe form, known as Mr. Frosty DX. Now he is more of a vanilla color, with green feet. He has red overalls with yellow stripes. He now has a black mouth instead of a blue one.
Game appearances
Kirby's Adventure/Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land
In Kirby's Adventure and its remake, Mr. Frosty appears as one of the first Mid-Bosses. Here is where his familiar battle style was established; namely, his ability to kick block of ice around and swallow Kirby. He is first seen in Vegetable Valley - Stage 4.
Kirby's Pinball Land
Mr. Frosty appears in the lowermost board of Poppy Brothers' Land. Kirby can bump into him to earn 480 points and make his overalls slip for a moment. After being bumped 6 times, Mr. Frosty will change his pose, and should Kirby run into him again, the overalls-wearing walrus will grab him. From there, the player can time a release with the A button to make Mr. Frosty release Kirby in one of four directions.
Kirby's Dream Land 2
Acting exactly the same as in Kirby's Adventure (save for giving Ice instead of Freeze), the walrus reappears in Kirby's Dream Land 2.
Kirby's Block Ball
Mr. Frosty appears as both a regular enemy and as a Boss in Stage 6. As a regular enemy, he takes 4 hits to defeat and is worth 5000 points. As a boss, he has 12 hit points and attacks by rolling around, worth 50000 points when defeated.
Kirby Super Star/Kirby Super Star Ultra
Mr. Frosty is a mid boss once again in Kirby Super Star and Kirby Super Star Ultra. He attacks the same way and is first fought at Float Islands. For the first time in the series, he is weak to fire-based attacks.
Kirby & The Amazing Mirror
Mr. Frosty is still a mid-boss in Kirby & The Amazing Mirror, now named Mr. Flosty in English. He can throw ice blocks of two different sizes. He is identical to his appearance in Nightmare in Dream Land.
Kirby: Squeak Squad
Mr. Frosty is a mid-boss in Kirby: Squeak Squad, and has the same appearance and attacks as his other appearances.
Kirby Air Ride
Mr. Frosty was going to appear in the canceled Nintendo 64 version of Kirby Air Ride. He was seen riding an orange Warp Star. At that time, it was unknown if he was going to be playable or not. Mr. Frosty did not appear as a playable character in the GameCube version of the game.
Kirby: Triple Deluxe
Mr. Frosty returns as a mid-boss in Kirby: Triple Deluxe. Like the other bosses, he also has a DX form. He has a new attack, where he flies around the screen in a cyclone of snow. Despite this, he is arguably the easiest Mid-Boss to defeat in this game.
Kirby: Planet Robobot
Mr. Frosty is one of the opponents that must be faced in Team Kirby Clash. Here, he is much larger and with greater Vitality. He also can throw more than one ice block at a time, in an effort to hit multiple Kirbys.

Mr. Frosty returns in the expanded Sub-Game, appearing on three separate occasions to battle Team Kirby. New moves include elaborate acrobatics, quick icy spins, and the ability to swallow Kirbys.
Kirby Star Allies
Mr. Frosty was the first confirmed Mid Boss to appear in this game. He is somewhat larger than he has been in other main series titles, and has obtained new overalls which no longer have a hole in the rump (though it is still hard to miss). Curiously, unlike the other Mid-Bosses in this title, Mr. Frosty cannot be recruited directly as an ally, instead being replaced by Chilly if a Friend Heart is tossed at him once he's down.
Super Kirby Clash
Mr. Frosty returns as an enemy encounter in Super Kirby Clash, serving largely the same role he did in its predecessor. He is faced in four different Quests, and appears with King Doo in Team First Contact and with his similar cohort Mr. Floaty in Team Shimmy.
Attacks
The following are all of Mr. Frosty's attacks in Super Kirby Clash. Note that attack names are conjectural:

---|---|---|---|---|
Attack | Description | Variants | Notes | |
Charge | Mr. Frosty starts running, and falls on his face after a while. | He may stop and gobble up a Kirby he runs into. He may also perform a much quicker run which travels further, but this leaves him dazed afterward. | ||
Triple Charge | Mr. Frosty conjures a field of ice around himself and starts running. He turns around twice in fixed intervals to charge again each time before running into a wall at the end and becoming dazed. | |||
Ice Toss | Mr. Frosty pulls out blocks of ice, tosses them upward, then hits them forward as they fall back down. These blocks can be broken using an attack. | In later quests, he may attempt to throw several at once. | ||
Acrobatics | Mr. Frosty pulls back, and then performs a series of quick and long jumps. He finishes with a heavy body slam which can flatten Kirbys underneath. | In later quests, these jumps become quicker and more numerous. | ||
Ice Tackle | Mr. Frosty starts hovering as he spins and breathes a cone of frost. | This move can either be done as Mr. Frosty weaves in and out of the background, or straight forward across the arena. | ||
Ice Toss Tackle | Mr. Frosty starts hovering toward the middle of the arena as he spins and breathes a cone of frost. While spinning, he throws out blocks of ice in semi-random trajectories. |
Trivia
- While Mr. Frosty is preparing ice to throw at Kirby, the player gets a good view of his rump, a characteristic of him that is shown in many Kirby games.
