"Metro on Ice" is a theme from Kirby and the Forgotten Land for the stage with the same name. It was composed by Hirokazu Ando.[1]
Composition[edit]
"Metro on Ice" is a calm and cheery theme in E-flat major and 4/4. It has a small intro that presents the instruments while keeping the harmonies vague. The melody, played by a vibraphone, is similar to that of "Rainbow Resort" in its descending nature and range. It is followed by a rising passage, returning it to its initial height, where the melody is repeated with the more prominent appearances of the piano, plucked strings and a triangle. The piano and strings pick up from here and lead into a light F major section with short rising phrases imitating the intro. After reaching a sparkling peak, they slowly descend and and reach the dominant. Through a delicate modulation, the track returns to its melody in E-flat major as the track to loops.
