Merman Statue (Japanese: 半魚人像) is an enemy and obstacle which can be found in Kirby's Return to Dream Land, in Onion Ocean - Stage 3, ahead of the Giant Flotzo. It shuffles from left-to-right, then stops and opens its mouth briefly to reveal its weak point; a wooden barrel with a star on it. However, Kirby can only exploit this weakness using the Monster Flame ability, which will destroy the barrel if exposed and then cause the statue to crumble. Destroyed statues will drop Point Stars and possibly food items.
Trivia
- The statue's design and the barrel as a weakness may be a nod to the Tiki Tak Tribe from Donkey Kong Country Returns; a contemporary game on the Wii.
- Despite their name, Merman Statues do not actually resemble merfolk.
