This article is about the lava-based enemy, and should not be confused with Madoo.

Magoo is a ball-like flame enemy that exists in volcanic areas, bobbing to and fro from the molten lava, where it resides, in both Kirby's Dream Land 3 and Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. When ingested by Kirby, he will obtain the Burning copy ability. In The Crystal Shards, the Magoo is a native to the lava worlds of Neo Star, and interestingly does not appear on any other realm in the game. Magoo is one of the only enemies, besides Burnis, that is apparent during the Magman boss battle in The Crystal Shards that can be used as a projectile, in the case that Kirby does not already possess some form of Copy Ability.

In Kirby Mass Attack, Magoo is very different, appearing much more like Magman. It appears in volcanic stages, and blocks Kirby's path. If doused with water, however, it will freeze solid, allowing Kirby time to smash it to bits.

Game appearances

Kirby's Dream Land 3

Magoo makes its first appearance in this game. It can be found only in magmatic areas, hopping in and out of pools of molten lava. Magoo's only method of attack is collision, and it hops in and out of lava repeatedly until defeated. If inhaled, it will grant the Burn ability.

Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards

Kirby Mass Attack

In-game capture of a Magoo who has been solidified by water in Kirby Mass Attack.

Magoo appears in Stage 1 of Volcano Valley. Here, it more resembles Magman, and pops out of magma pools to harass the Kirbys and get in their way. Any Kirby who touches a Magoo will take damage and also be lit on fire. Magoo often positions itself to block Kirby's passage through tight spaces, but can be defeated if it is splashed with water. This causes Magoo to harden, and from there, it can be safely pulverized by repeatedly pummeling it.
