Kracko appears as an encounter in Kirby: Star Allies, though it is not yet known where it can be found, or the full extent of its attack patterns. It would appear that Kracko has been possessed by the same force affecting the other bosses and - much like Meta Knight - can duplicate itself. It also retains its rain attack, which can be guarded against using Chumbrella.

KRRR-RACKK! Dance to my deadly music, or fry like a moth! HA HA!!
— Kracko, Kirby's Avalanche

Kracko is a recurring Kirby series Boss. It resembles a large floating cloud, but it has a single eyeball in its center and small spikes on its fringes. In every iteration, Kracko's signature attack is its ability to shoot lightning bolts, fire beams from its eye, and generate various minions from its body (usually Waddle Doos). It also has a weaker, more premature form called Kracko Jr..

Battle Style

Kracko's attacks vary depending on the game, but this table describes the recurring attacks that it uses.

All listed attack names are conjectural.

Kracko's attacks
Attack Description
Enemy Spawn
Kracko animates quickly, then drops one of several one-eyed enemies, the most common being Waddle Doo.
Star Beam
Kracko shoots two harmful beams that rotate quickly around itself.
Swoop
Kracko swoops towards Kirby across the entire screen. In some games, it may also spin twice to increase the attack's range.
Lightning Sweep
Kracko sweeps quickly across the screen while shooting lightning at the ground. Covers the entire arena floor.
Bullet Rain
Kracko flies above Kirby and attempts to rain on him. Hits multiple times in Kirby Super Star.
Co-Kracko
Kracko releases a smaller version of itself, a Co-Kracko, to attack.

Appearances

Kirby's Dream Land

Artwork from Kirby's Dream Land.

Kracko's first appearance was as the third boss of the stage Bubbly Clouds. In this stage it also appears as a mini-boss as Kracko Jr. Kracko has 6 HP, while its Kracko Jr. form has 3. Kracko summons Waddle Doos and uses a variety of Beam attacks.

Kirby's Adventure/Nightmare in Dream Land

Kracko appeared as the fourth boss of this game, in Grape Garden. When Kirby enters the boss stage, Kracko Jr. appears and is initially invulnerable. Kirby has to escape by heading upward, which is made easier if he obtains the Ji-Jump ability from one of the Starmen. When Kirby reaches the top, Kracko Jr. turns into Kracko and Kirby has to fight it either by using the Hi-Jump ability or spitting the Starmen back at it.

Kirby's Dream Land 2

Kracko appears again as the boss of Cloudy Park. It begins as Kracko Jr., and after this form is defeated, it refills its health and turns into the full-grown Kracko.

Kirby's Dream Land 3

Despite Kracko not truly appearing in Kirby's Dream Land 3, a painting of it is drawn by Ado, which can use most of Kracko's basic attacks. Interestingly, Ado is fought in Cloudy Park where Kracko was fought in Kirby's Dream Land 2.

Kirby Super Star (Ultra)

Kracko (left) and Kracko's Revenge (right).

Kracko is a boss in Kirby Super Star and its remake, Kirby Super Star Ultra. It appears in Spring Breeze, Milky Way Wishes, the Arena, Revenge of the King, Meta Knightmare Ultra, Helper to Hero, and both The Arena and The True Arena. In Revenge of the King and the True Arena, it takes the form of Kracko's Revenge. This form is strikingly different in its colTemplate:Ouration from standard Kracko; being purplish instead of white, and bearing a red eye and black spikes. Along with Kracko's standard attacks, Kracko's Revenge can fly into the middle of the screen and shoot large bolts of lightning in eight different directions. Its Star Beam attack is also larger, and its lightning attacks are more targeted.

Kirby's Avalanche

Kracko is the opponent in stage 11. It is the third-to-last enemy, and only Meta Knight and King Dedede are fought after it. This is the only game in the series where Kracko talks directly to Kirby.

Kirby Air Ride

Main article: Kracko Orb

In Kirby Air Ride, Kracko is actually an item in Top Ride, not a boss. It selects a random opponent and strikes them with powerful lightning. This can catch other racers who run into the shock range as well.

Kirby and the Amazing Mirror

Kracko appears as the boss of Mustard Mountain. Unlike previous games, this is the only game to put Kracko in a place that is not in some way related to clouds. In this game, it creates Flamers; being the only game where it does this.

Kirby: Canvas Curse

Main article: Block Attack

Kracko appears in the Boss Game Block Attack, specifically in Levels 2 and 3 (Kracko Jr. appears in Level 1). Kirby can defeat it by slamming into its eye, which can be done by removing pieces of its body first. In the meantime, Kracko will use its normal beam and lightning attacks to try and prevent this.

Kirby Squeak Squad

Main article: Mecha-Kracko

Despite Kracko itself not really appearing in Kirby Squeak Squad, Doc appears as the boss of Cushy Cloud, and uses a mech that is made in the likeness of Kracko.

Kirby's Epic Yarn

Kracko is (surprisingly) a Mid-Boss in Kirby's Epic Yarn. It is fought three times. The first time it chases Kirby for a short distance in Cloud Palace. Much later in the level, Kracko is actually fought. Kirby defeats it with the Star Shooter transformation. Kracko is encountered a third time as a mid-boss in Space Land, fittingly as Space Kracko.

Kirby: Triple Deluxe

It seems Kracko has made Floralia part of its territory. It's being fed by a mysterious power source, so its attacks are stronger than ever before!
— Triple Deluxe Boss description

In Kirby: Triple Deluxe, Kracko appears as the boss of Level 3, Old Odyssey and is fought again in Stage 2 of Royal Road. It appears after being summoned (inadvertently) by Taranza in a last-ditch effort to escape Kirby. Kracko is souped up and possesses many new attacks not seen in previous iterations. It also has a DX form which is even more powerful.

The following lists all of Kracko's attacks in Story Mode and The Arena in Kirby: Triple Deluxe. Attacks in italics are used in the second phase of the fight only.

Kracko uses Super Lightning Storm as Kirby has fled to the background to avoid it.
Attacks - Normal
Attack Description
Summon Minion
Kracko shakes itself and drops a Waddle Doo into the arena, which can be swallowed for the Beam ability.
Star Beam
Kracko turns grey and unleashes a swirl of blue beams that spiral around itself for a short time.
Dive
Kracko dives across the stage, in a maneuver that can be difficult to dodge. It can do this in a few different ways. In the second phase, Kracko can dive between the planes.
Rain Storm
Kracko turns blue and delivers a torrent of rain below itself.
Lightning Storm
Kracko turns black and unleashes a flurry of lightning bolts below it as it travels slowly across the stage.
Long Horn
While in a different plane than Kirby, Kracko shoots out two giant coiled spikes on both sides of it, then attempts to ram Kirby with them. after flying to one side of the stage, leaving stars in its wake. After passing once, it will try again from the other side.
Ejection
Kracko turns grey and vibrates violently, releasing all sorts of junk that can be inhaled and spat back, including a Parasol Waddle Dee, finishing with a cannon that Kirby can use to fire to a different plane. Kracko will usually follow this up with a big attack that necessitates Kirby's flight.
Super Lightning Storm
After a Discharge, Kracko inflates to a huge size and then proceeds to zap the entire stage with lightning. Kirby has to escape to a different plane to avoid getting hit.
Cross Thunder
If on the same plane as Kirby, Kracko charges up, then fires lightning bolts on both sides of it, then above and beneath it. It then fires two diagonal bolts. Any ground-hitting bolts will leave a star.
Beam Barrage
If Kracko is on a different plane than Kirby, it will attempt to fire a barrage of beam shots into Kirby's plane, which spread across the floor. It may also deliberately fly into a different plane to perform this attack. The last shot of the barrage leaves a star behind.
Charge Shot
While in the background and Kirby is in the foreground, Kracko shoots out its big golden spikes from the top of its 'head' and charges up a giant ball of energy, which it then tosses into Kirby's plane in an attempt to hit him. The blast hits the ground, then splits into many smaller blasts and some stars. These smaller blasts can be inhaled as well.

Whenever Kracko takes a hit, a visible tear drops from its single eye. Upon being reduced to half health, its eye and complexion become red, and it opens up with many more attacks after clearing away the background with a whirlwind, making it a factor in the fight.

Kirby Fighters Deluxe

Kracko appears as a Boss on its own home stage. It will attack the fighting Kirbys and can be defeated.

Kracko is encountered twice in this spinoff adventure. Its moves are mostly the same as its Triple Deluxe incarnation, though stripped down to accommodate a single-plane arena.

Kracko serves as the first Ordeal, and defeating it unlocks the Ruins.

Kirby: Battle Royale

Kirby Star Allies

A still from the fight with Kracko in Kirby: Star Allies.

Kracko appears as an encounter in Kirby Star Allies, though it is not yet known where it can be found, or the full extent of its attack patterns. It would appear that Kracko has been possessed by the same force affecting the other bosses and - much like Meta Knight - can duplicate itself. It also retains its rain attack, which can be guarded against using Chumbrella.

In addition, Twin Kracko is also fought in this title.

In the anime, Kracko appears in episode four, "A Dark and Stormy Knight." It is much more powerful than it is in the games.

Trivia

 • Kracko's relationship to Kracko Jr. is not always clear, but it is generally understood that the latter can transform into the former.
 • While Whispy Woods has served as a boss more times in the series, Kracko has appeared in more games than any other boss besides King Dedede.
