Kracko is a recurring boss in the Kirby series. He resembles a large floating cloud, but he has a single eyeball in his center and small spikes on his fringes. His attacks vary between games, but his most common abilities include shooting lightning bolts, firing beams from his eye, and generating various minions from his body (usually Waddle Doos or Li'l Krackos). He also has a weaker, less mature form called Kracko Jr. who usually transforms into Kracko after being defeated. His name is derived from "crack", an onomatopoeia used for the sound of lightning striking.

Kracko is a recurring boss in the Kirby series. He resembles a large floating cloud, but it has a single eyeball in his center and small spikes on his fringes. In every iteration, Kracko's signature attack is his ability to shoot lightning bolts, fire beams from his eye, and generate various minions from his body (usually Waddle Doos or Co-Krackos). He also has a weaker, more premature form called Kracko Jr..
Much like Whispy Woods, Kracko is one of the most iconic enemies in the Kirby series, appearing in some form (usually as a boss) in the majority of its games. While he is typically mute, Kracko does occasionally and briefly speak. Kracko is sometimes referred to as the "lord of the sky" or the "cloud-spirit ruler", and has gone through many variations on his appearance over the course of the series.

Characteristics
Kracko's usual appearance is that of a large, fluffy cloud with a single, cycloptic eyeball (resembling that of Waddle Doo) and yellow spikes protruding from his sides. His coloration is generally white, with blue accents on top and pink accents on bottom, but he can also turn gray or even black during certain attacks; his alternate forms also tend to have more unnatural colors. His attacks consist of actions typically associated with clouds, such as generating rain and lightning to strike his foes. He also has more unusual abilities, such as firing beams of light from his eye and generating objects from within his body, including Waddle Doos or Starmen. Later games demonstrate his ability to grow in size, extend his spikes into massive spears, and even split into two. His eye follows Kirby's movement along the screen, and when defeated, he is typically shown dissipating into simply an eyeball before exploding.

Much like Whispy Woods, Kracko is one of the most iconic entities in the Kirby series, appearing in some form in the majority of games. While he is typically mute, and his motivations unknown, Kracko is sometimes given a voice, though he does not say anything particularly important. Kracko is sometimes referred to as the "lord of the sky" or the "cloud-spirit ruler", and has gone through many variations on his appearance over the course of the series.
While early games show that Kracko is merely one of King Dedede's cronies, in later titles he is often seen in places that fall outside of the king's rule, such as the Mirror World and Floralia. It is established in later games that Kracko can manifest anywhere "as long as there are clouds in the sky", and after his defeat, he will always return at some point. Furthermore, Kracko takes his losses very personally and operates primarily to exact revenge on Kirby; as Kirby Fighters Deluxe reveals, he even felt betrayed when being "replaced" by Mecha-Kracko in Kirby: Squeak Squad. Kracko's grudge against Kirby runs deep enough that powerful manifestations of his "fallen tears" and "pure hate" appear within Another Dimension in the forms of Parallel Twin Kracko and Parallel Big Kracko, as shown in Kirby Star Allies. Kracko remains one of Kirby's most persistent enemies, and has appeared in many iterations across the series.

Kracko appears not as a boss in this game, but instead as a rare hazard on courses. He floats in the air and will occasionally drop lightning bolts below. He is also harmful to touch, and cannot simply be defeated like other enemies on the course. To defeat Kracko, Kirby must make use of the Spark ability.

Kracko is the opponent in stage 11. He is the third-to-last enemy, and only Meta Knight and King Dedede are fought after Kracko himself is. This is the only game in the series where Kracko talks directly to Kirby. It's also notably the first time Kracko is depicted with his current coloring, being blue on the top and pink on the bottom, rather than pure white.

In Kirby: Triple Deluxe, Kracko appears as the boss of Level 3, Old Odyssey and is fought again in Stage 2 of Royal Road. Oddly, in this game, Kracko is referred to using neuter pronouns. He appears after being summoned (inadvertently) by Taranza in a last-ditch effort to escape Kirby. Kracko is souped up and possesses many new attacks not seen in previous iterations.

Kracko's spikes now have new colors, ranging from orange to green instead of just yellow, a trait that would be carried to later games. Whenever Kracko's body takes a hit, a visible tear drops from his single eye. Upon his health being reduced to half, Kracko's eye and complexion become red, and he opens up with many more attacks after clearing away the background with a whirlwind, making this a factor in the fight. Losing to Kracko twice in a row will result in additional platforms closing the gaps in-between the background pillars, making the fight easier.

Kracko is encountered twice in Team Kirby Clash Deluxe, and three times in Super Kirby Clash. His moves are mostly the same as those of his Triple Deluxe incarnation, though stripped down to accommodate a single-plane arena. In Team Kirby Clash Deluxe, Kracko serves as the first Ordeal, and defeating him unlocks the Ruins. In Super Kirby Clash, Kracko does not show up in an Ordeal, but can also be found paired up with Gigant Edge to form Team Sword & Storm. A more powerful variant of Kracko that appears in the ninth Ordeal called Venom Kracko also appears.

In Kirby's Blowout Blast, Kracko serves as the boss of Level 4 and Level 4EX (taking the form of Kracko's Revenge in the latter). Here, he fights in a fully 3D environment, so his standard attacks have been tweaked to accommodate this. Notably, when using his lightning, he chases Kirby down and leaves a lingering trail of sparks on the floor, and his beam whip attack is sent out laterally rather than vertically. He also has the ability to charge, fire homing beam blasts, and send out waves of lightning.
Kracko's Revenge is also faced in Secret Path, at the end of the third "stage".

Meta Knight finds out about the transaction, and tells Tuff to warn Kirby about Kracko's arrival, but he does not make it to Kirby and Tiff in time, and they are st upon by a giant storm. Kracko is obscured within the storm at first, and rains down lighting continually on Kirby in an attempt to kill him. As they run through Cappy Town, several of the villagers are inadvertently targeted by the lightning strikes as the storm makes chase. These bolts also target King Dedede, prompting him to try and return Kracko to N.M.E., but they refuse, citing a one hour no-return period in the contract.

After a while, Tiff calls upon the Warp Star to help Kirby fight the storm. Kirby uses the star to fly into the storm's eye, where he finds Kracko. Kirby attempts to parry Kracko's lightning strikes, and tries to inhale his clouds, but this appears to be ineffective. Eventually, Kracko throws out a lighting bolt shaped like a scimitar. Kirby swallows this and obtains the Sword ability. Using this ability, Kirby throws a series of giant sword beams at Kracko, which cut him in half and defeat him.

YOU...! Did you think I'd forget?! The time you smashed into me with your Hi-Jump! That time I was betrayed by Helpers! Or when I was replaced by that imposter! I-I... Sniff... there's something in my eye...
— VS Kracko (Very Hard) Pause Screen description in the British English version of Kirby Fighters Deluxe

Characteristics[edit]

Varieties and relatives of Kracko[edit]

Being such an iconic enemy, Kracko has had many off-shoots and variations. The following lists each one along with close relatives:

Battle style[edit]

Kracko's attacks vary depending on the game, but this table describes the recurring attacks that he uses.

All listed attack names are conjectural.

Kracko's Attacks
Attack Description
Enemy Drop Kracko animates quickly, then drops one of several common enemies, the most common being Waddle Doo. This is his most common attack in combat.
Beam Kracko shoots two harmful beam whips that rotate quickly around himself. He can also shoot four beam whips in some games.
Tackle Kracko swoops towards Kirby across the entire screen. In some games, he may also spin twice to increase the attack's range, similar to a W-letter path.
Lightning Sweep Kracko sweeps quickly across the screen while shooting lightning at the ground. Covers the entire arena floor.
Rainstorm Kracko flies above Kirby and attempts to rain on him. This may hit multiple times in many later games. Kirby can hold an umbrella over his head to negate this.
Li'l Kracko Kracko releases a smaller version of himself, a Li'l Kracko, to attack.
Energy Beams Starting from Kirby: Triple Deluxe, Kracko goes in the background and rapid-fires energy beams from left to right and right to left and in some games, left and right to middle.

Kirby's Dream Land[edit]

Kracko makes his debut as the fourth boss of the stage Bubbly Clouds. In this stage his juvenile form, Kracko Jr. also appears as a mini-boss. Later on, Kracko also appears in Mt. Dedede. Kracko himself has 6 HP, while his Kracko Jr. form has 3. Kracko summons Waddle Doos and uses a variety of Beam attacks.

In Extra mode, he charges faster and drops bombs. Like Kracko Jr, most of his attacks in this mode can be avoided if Kirby stays in the leftmost corner, the sole exception being his charging attack.

Kirby's Adventure / Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land[edit]

Kirby battling Kracko with the Hi-Jump ability in Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land

Kracko appeared as the fourth boss of Kirby's Adventure and Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land, in the level Grape Garden. He starts out as Kracko Jr..

At the start of the battle, Kracko Jr. can be seen in the air, and a Starman appears to the right. Kirby must inhale it for the Hi-Jump ability and ascend through the layers of cloud. Kirby must be quick, as Kracko Jr. destroys the cloud layers one-by-one, and Kirby will lose a stock if he falls back down. Once Kirby reaches the top, Kracko Jr. morphs into Kracko and the fight begins.

Kracko attacks by shooting beams from his body, spitting out Starmen and swooping about, often shooting lightning in the process. To hurt Kracko, Kirby can spit the Starmen back at him, or use Hi-Jump to tackle the boss. Once Kracko is defeated, it explodes, leaving behind the fourth Star Rod piece for Kirby to collect.

Kirby's Pinball Land[edit]

Kracko appears as the boss of Kracko Land after transforming from Kracko Jr.. He attacks by conjuring Flappers and shooting lightning at the flippers to disable them. After five successful hits, Kracko is defeated.

Kracko also appears in the ending cutscene as part of the enemy march.

Kirby's Dream Course[edit]

KDCKracko.png

Kracko appears not as a boss in this game, but instead as a rare hazard on courses. He floats in the air and will occasionally drop lightning bolts below. He is also harmful to touch, and cannot simply be defeated like other enemies on the course. To defeat Kracko, Kirby must make use of the Spark ability.

Kracko has also his own course named after him in 2P Mode, called Kracko Course.

In Kirby's Dream Course, Kracko can be found in the following courses and holes:

Kirby's Avalanche[edit]

KAv Kracko sprite.png
KRRR-RACKK! Dance to my deadly music, or fry like a moth! HA HA!!
— Kracko, Kirby's Avalanche
If you thought Thor was the God of Thunder, this boss will change your mind in a hurry.
— Kirby's Avalanche Instruction Booklet (North American print), page 24

Kracko is the opponent in stage 11. He is the third-to-last enemy, and only Meta Knight and King Dedede are fought after Kracko himself is. This is the only game in the series where Kracko talks directly to Kirby. It's also notably the first time Kracko is depicted with his current coloring, being blue on the top and pink on the bottom, rather than pure white. Kracko's equivalent in the Puyo Puyo franchise is Minotauros.

Kirby's Dream Land 2[edit]

KDL2 Kracko sprite 2.png

Kracko reappears in Kirby's Dream Land 2 as the boss of Cloudy Park. He is fought on a cloud platform, and begins as Kracko Jr. In this form, he can hide in the cloud platform, occasionally exposing his eye to shoot beams. When Kracko Jr. pops out of the clouds, he can summon Co-Krackos or shoot his orbs at Kirby. After his Kracko Jr. form is defeated, the boss refills his health and turns into his true form. He can summon Co-Krackos and now shoot beams.

Kirby's Block Ball[edit]

KBBa Kracko sprite.png Kracko appears as the boss of Stage 7, appearing shortly into the boss fight after transforming from Kracko Jr. He is worth 50000 points when defeated.

Kirby's Toy Box[edit]

In Kirby's Toy Box, Kracko appears along with Co-Kracko in the Pinball mini-game. They serve as bumpers, with former adding 50 points to score counter and latter 30.

Kirby Super Star / Kirby Super Star Ultra[edit]

KSSU Kracko Sprite.png

Kracko is a boss in Kirby Super Star and its remake, Kirby Super Star Ultra. He appears in Spring Breeze, Milky Way Wishes, Revenge of the King, Meta Knightmare Ultra, Helper to Hero, and both The Arena and The True Arena.

KSSU Kracko's Revenge Sprite.png

In Revenge of the King and the True Arena, he takes the form of Kracko's Revenge. This form is strikingly different in appearance from standard Kracko: he is purplish instead of white, bears a red cat-like eye, and has sharper, black spikes. Along with Kracko's standard attacks, Kracko's Revenge can fly into the middle of the screen and shoot large bolts of lightning in eight different directions. His Star Beam attack is also larger, he can move in his rain attack and his lightning attacks are more targeted.

In Kirby Super Star Ultra, Kracko also appears on a card in Kirby Card Swipe.

Kirby's Dream Land 3[edit]

KDL3 Kracko sprite.png

Although Kracko does not appear in his true colors in Kirby's Dream Land 3, Ado draws the painting in her fourth phase, which can use most of Kracko's basic attacks. Interestingly, Ado is fought in Cloudy Park where Kracko himself was fought in Kirby's Dream Land 2.

Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble[edit]

KTnT Kracko.png Kracko is faced as a boss twice in this title, first in Level 3, then in Level 6. Both times, he flies about the area, laying a continuous line of Gordos to attempt to box Kirby in. Meanwhile, he will be firing Co-Krackos (in level 3) or his signature lightning bolts (in level 6) at Kirby. To defeat him, Kirby must fire a continuous barrage of Air Bullets at the cycloptic cloud.

Kirby Air Ride[edit]

KAR Kracko Orb artwork.png
Artwork of the Kracko item

In Kirby Air Ride, Kracko appears as an item which appears in the Top Ride mode of Kirby Air Ride. It appears randomly during standard races, dropping onto the course. When touched by a racer, the item will fly into the air, and transform into Kracko. From there, Kracko seeks out a random opponent, and zaps them, rendering that opponent unable to move for the duration of the effect. Any other opponents nearby who approach the target being zapped will also get shocked. Kracko will do this one - to - four times before flying away from the race. Once picked up, the Kracko orb is used right away, allowing the racer to immediately pick up another item.

Kirby & The Amazing Mirror[edit]

KNiDL Kracko sprite.png

Kracko appears as the boss of Mustard Mountain. Unlike previous games, this is the only game to put Kracko in a place that is not in some way related to clouds. In this game, he creates Flamers; being the only game where he does this. Upon his defeat, Kracko explodes. Notably, Kracko is the only boss of this game that is not new to the series.

Kirby: Canvas Curse[edit]

Main article: Block Attack

Kracko appears in the Boss Game Block Attack, specifically in Levels 2 and 3 (Kracko Jr. appears in Level 1). Kirby can ram Kracko's eye to sap his health, which can be done by removing pieces of his body first. In the meantime, Kracko will use his normal beam and lightning attacks to try and prevent this.

Kirby: Squeak Squad[edit]

Main article: Mecha-Kracko

Although Kracko himself does not really appear in Kirby: Squeak Squad, Doc appears as the boss of Cushy Cloud, and uses a mech that is made in the likeness of Kracko.

The fluffy body looks soft, but that big eye will shoot bolts that are anything but...!
— Patch Plaza description

Kracko is a Mid-Boss in Kirby's Epic Yarn and its 3DS version, being encountered twice in Cloud Palace. The first time he chases Kirby for a short distance and the second time is when Kracko is actually fought by Kirby's Star Shooter, using his Li'l Kracko and lightning-based attacks. A relative of Kracko is also faced as a mid-boss in Outer Rings, fittingly as Space Kracko.

Kirby Mass Attack[edit]

Kracko appears in the Kirby Mass Attack Sub-Game Strato Patrol EOS. Here, he serves as the boss of Stage 2, and attacks by shooting out lightning bolts and Waddle Doos at the Kirbys.

Kirby: Triple Deluxe[edit]

It seems Kracko has made Floralia part of its territory. It's being fed by a mysterious power source, so its attacks are stronger than ever before!
— Triple Deluxe Boss description

The following lists all of Kracko's attacks in Story Mode and The Arena in Kirby: Triple Deluxe. Attacks in italics are used only in his second phase.

Kracko's attacks in Kirby: Triple Deluxe
Attack Description
Enemy Drop Kracko shakes himself and drops a Waddle Doo into the arena, which can be swallowed for the Beam ability.
Beam Whip Kracko turns gray and unleashes a swirl of blue beam whips that spiral around himself for a short time.
Body Blow Kracko dives across the stage, in a maneuver that can be difficult to dodge.
He can do this in a few different ways. In the second phase, Kracko can dive between the planes.
Descending Rain Kracko turns blue and delivers a torrent of rain below him.
Lightning Drop Kracko turns black and unleashes a flurry of lightning bolts below his body as he travels slowly across the stage.
Long Horn While in a different plane than Kirby, Kracko shoots out two giant coiled spikes on both sides of his body,
then attempts to ram Kirby with them, leaving Dropped Stars in his wake. After passing once, he will try again from the other side.
天からの災雷
Disastrous Thunder from the Sky
Kracko turns gray and vibrates violently, releasing all sorts of junk that can be inhaled and spat back, including a Parasol Waddle Dee, finishing with a cannon that Kirby can use to fire to a different plane.
Sometimes after that, Kracko inflates to a huge size and then proceeds to zap the entire stage with lightning. Kirby has to escape to a different plane to avoid getting hit, and using the cannon is the only option.
Cross Thunder If on the same plane as Kirby, Kracko charges up, then fires lightning bolts on both sides of his body, then above and beneath his body. He then fires two diagonal bolts. Any ground-hitting bolts will leave a star.
Lightning Ball If Kracko is on a different plane than Kirby, he will attempt to fire a barrage of beam shots into Kirby's plane, which spread across the floor.
He may also deliberately fly into a different plane to perform this attack. The last shot of the barrage leaves a star behind.
Super Lightning Ball While in the background and Kirby is in the foreground, Kracko shoots out his big golden spikes from the top of his 'head' and charges up a giant ball of energy, which he then tosses into Kirby's plane in an attempt to hit him.
The blast hits the ground, then splits into many smaller blasts and some stars. These smaller blasts can be inhaled as well.
Kirby has defeated Kracko countless times, but as long as the clouds still hang in the sky, Kracko will never give up the fight!
— Triple Deluxe DX Boss description

Kracko also has a DX version, which is encountered in Dededetour! and The True Arena. Instead of being granted power by Taranza, Kracko DX appears immediately after Dedede arrives in his territory. His cloud body is now green, and he has fewer but thicker spikes which are striped in dramatic shades of red and blue, including two right above his eye.

The following lists all of Kracko DX's attacks in Dededetour and The True Arena. Attacks in italics are exclusively used in the second phase. Note that the attack names are conjectural:

Kracko DX's Attacks in Kirby: Triple Deluxe
Attack Description
Body Blow Kracko DX dives across the stage, in a maneuver that can be difficult to dodge.
He can do this in a few different ways. In the second phase, Kracko can dive between the planes. He uses this attack at a higher pace than in his normal battle.
Enemy Drop Kracko DX shakes himself and drops a Waddle Doo into the arena, which can be swallowed for the Beam ability. In addition, he throws out two random objects which can be inhaled and spat back at him. He often follows this up with a Beam Whip or Lightning Drop.
Beam Whip Kracko turns gray and unleashes a swirl of yellow beam whips that spiral around his body for a short time. He then repositions and attempts this move again.
Lightning Drop Kracko DX turns black and unleashes a flurry of lightning bolts below his body as he travels across the stage at a remarkable speed.
Descending Rain Kracko DX turns blue and delivers a torrent of rain below him. He sometimes tries to follow Kirby or Dedede while the rain still falls.
Cross Thunder If on the same plane as Kirby or Dedede, Kracko DX charges up, then fires lightning bolts on both sides of his body, then above and beneath his body. He then fires two diagonal bolts. Any ground-hitting bolts will leave a drop star. In the second phase, he will additionally fire in all vertical and horizontal directions once and once in every diagonal direction to finish the attack.
Lightning Ball If Kracko DX is on a different plane than Kirby, he will attempt to fire three barrages of beam shots into Kirby's or Dedede's plane, which spread across the floor (the first two from one side to the other, the final one from both sides to the middle).
The last shot of the barrage leaves a drop star behind.
Long Horn While in a different plane than Kirby, Kracko DX shoots out two giant coiled spikes on both sides of his body, then flies into the foreground in an attempt to ram Kirby or Dedede. He then attempts to ram Kirby or Dedede from the side, moving up and down or stopping midway through to make it harder to escape and repeats this from the other side. He finishes off by coming into the foreground from the background while rotating to make his spikes spin.
天からの災雷
Disastrous Thunder from the Sky
Kracko DX turns gray and vibrates violently, releasing all sorts of junk that can be inhaled and spat back, including a Parasol Waddle Dee, finishing with a cannon that Kirby or Dedede can use to fire to a different plane. This part may also be performed before using Lightning Ball or just to bring Kirby or Dedede to a different plane.
Sometimes afterward, Kracko inflates to a huge size and then proceeds to zap the entire stage with lightning. Kirby or Dedede have to escape to a different plane to avoid getting hit, and using the cannon is the only option.
Super Lightning Ball While in the background and Kirby or Dedede is in the foreground, Kracko DX shoots out his big golden spikes from the top of his 'head' and charges up a giant ball of energy, which he then tosses into Kirby's or Dedede's plane in an attempt to hit them.
The blast hits the ground, then splits into four smaller blasts and some stars. These smaller blasts can be inhaled as well. The big blast leaves an electric field on the ground for a few seconds.

Attack order[edit]

There are many different attack orders that Kracko uses for his various fights. Click "Expand" on the right to see the lists.

In phase 1 of Dededetour! Lvl 3 and The True Arena, Kracko DX attacks in a fixed order on loop as follows:

 1. Body Blow

In phase 2, Kracko DX always starts with these attacks:

 • Lightning Ball
 • Long Horn
 • Disastrous Thunder from the Sky (complete)

Afterwards Kracko DX attacks in a fixed order on loop (the pattern is as follows because of Kracko DX needing to be in the background for Super Lightning Ball DX and therefore Long Horn DX to be usable. Therefore, the pattern loops once without Super Lightning Ball and Long Horn due to Kracko DX changing his plane an uneven amount of times per loop):

 1. Body Blow
 2. Cross Thunder

Miiverse description[edit]

Kracko is the boss of Level 3: Old Odyssey. Kracko has appeared in the Kirby series since the Game Boy version. This time, he has the energy of the sky on his side, so he has more power than ever. Kracko drops barrels and nuts, and can expand his body across the stage and drop lightning bolts, so it’s pretty hard finding a safe place during battle. You can get copy abilities from some of the items that Kracko drops, so have fun trying them out!

Two Kirbys face off against Kracko in the Single Player Mode of Kirby Fighters Deluxe

Kracko appears as a stage hazard on his own home stage in Kirby Fighters, Kirby Fighters Deluxe and Kirby Fighters 2. He will attack the fighting Kirbys and can be defeated. His moves are mostly the same as those of his Kirby: Triple Deluxe incarnation, though stripped down to accommodate a single-plane arena.

In Kirby Fighters Deluxe, Kracko is also fought as a boss in Round 5 of Single Player Mode. While he uses mostly the same attacks from his stage hazard appearance, he has some new moves, like the "Throwback Blindfold" move in which he scatters four Keychains that usually feature some of his likenesses.

The following lists all of Kracko's attacks in the Single Player Mode of Kirby Fighters Deluxe. The attacks that Kracko uses depend in the difficulty in which he is being battled upon.

Kracko's Attacks as a boss in Kirby Fighters Deluxe
Attack Difficulties Description
Body Blow All difficulties Kracko dives across the stage, in a maneuver that can be difficult to dodge. He can do this in a few different ways. He may do this several times in a row.
In the Hard difficulty, he uses this attack at a higher pace than in the lower difficulties, while in the Very Hard difficulty, he uses it at an even higher pace.
In the Very Hard difficulty, he may charge when being in one side of the stage, to then pass rapidly to the opposite side.
Enemy Drop All difficulties Kracko shakes himself and drops a Waddle Doo into the arena. The Waddle Doo will walk forward and attack twice, then it will leave the stage if not defeated.
Lightning Drop All difficulties Kracko turns black and unleashes a flurry of lightning bolts below his body as he travels slowly across the stage. He may do this twice.
Throwback Blindfold All difficulties Kracko turns gray and vibrates violently, releasing all sorts of junk along a Parasol Waddle Dee and/or a normal Waddle Dee, all of which can be grabbed if a Copy Ability is capable of doing so.
Then, he finishes with releasing four Keychains that, instead of falling onto the stage to damage the Kirbys, fall on the screen, obscuring the player's view.
Beam Whip Easy and Normal Kracko turns gray and unleashes a swirl of two blue beam whips that spiral around his body for a short time.
Long Horn Spin All difficulties While in a different plane than Kirby, Kracko extends out two giant coiled spikes on both sides of his body, then starts spinning from one side of the stage to the other. Attacking the spikes does damage to Kracko.
Descending Rain All difficulties Kracko turns blue and delivers a torrent of rain below him.
In the Very Hard difficulty, he tries to follow Kirby while the rain still falls.
Cross Thunder All except Easy Kracko charges up, then fires lightning bolts on both sides of his body, then above and beneath his body. He then fires four diagonal bolts. Any ground-hitting bolts will leave a Dropped Star.
In the Very Hard difficulty, he will additionally fire in all vertical and horizontal directions once and then once in every diagonal direction to finish the attack, and he uses the attack at a higher pace than in the lower difficulties.
New Long Horn Hard and Very Hard Kracko goes to the upper part of the stage in the same plane as Kirby, spin and extend two giant coiled spikes there, then retract them, spin and extend them again in the downward part of the stage, and spin in place twice with the spikes out. Attacking the spikes does damage to Kracko.

Kracko attacks in a fixed order on loop which changes depending on the difficulty selected, as follows:

Kirby: Planet Robobot[edit]

Main article: Holo Defense API#Holo-Kracko

While Kracko does not directly appear in Kirby: Planet Robobot, a hologram created using his data, Holo-Kracko, appears as part of the Holo Defense API boss battle. Holo-Kracko 2.0 takes the form of Kracko's Revenge. Additionally, two Stickers of his likeness appear, one using his artwork from Kirby's Dream Land and the other having a comic book style.

Team Kirby Clash Deluxe & Super Kirby Clash[edit]

Face the ordeal--the desert-ruling cloud with the force of a natural disaster!
— flavor text from Team Kirby Clash Deluxe

Kracko is encountered twice in Team Kirby Clash Deluxe, and three times in Super Kirby Clash. His moves are mostly the same as those of his Kirby: Triple Deluxe incarnation, though stripped down to accommodate a single-plane arena. A more powerful variant of Kracko that appears in the tenth Ordeal called Venom Kracko also appears.

Attacks[edit]

Body Blow Kracko dives across the stage, in a maneuver that can be difficult to dodge.
He can do this in a few different ways. In the second phase, Kracko can dive between the planes.
Descending Rain Kracko turns blue and delivers a torrent of rain below him. In some fights, he might move slightly in one direction during the attack.
Lightning Drop Kracko turns black and unleashes a flurry of lightning bolts below his body as he travels slowly across the stage.
天からの災雷
Disasterous Thunder from the Sky
After charging, Kracko inflates to a huge size and then proceeds to zap a large portion of the stage with lightning. This can be dodged by running to one side of the stage.
Cross Thunder Kracko charges up, then fires lightning bolts on both sides of his body, then above and beneath his body. He then fires two diagonal bolts.
Lightning Ball Kracko flies into the background, then fires a barrage of beam shots into the arena, which spread across the floor.
Super Lightning Ball Kracko flies into the background, shoots out his big golden spikes from the top of his 'head' and charges up a giant ball of energy, which he then tosses into the arena.
The blast hits the ground, then splits into many smaller blasts.

Kirby's Blowout Blast[edit]

Kracko filling the sky to perform a more powerful lightning attack in Kirby's Blowout Blast.

Kirby Battle Royale[edit]

Kracko appears in one of the objectives in Crazy Theater. The Kirbys must dodge his shocks. In this game, there is also a Headgear called "Kracko Hat" for the Tornado Ability.

Kirby Star Allies[edit]

As a Boss[edit]

Even in the far-flung reaches of space, as long as there's a sky, Kirby's long-time nemesis Kracko can show up and cast a shadow across it. But out here, something about his energy feels...different. Stay on your guard, Star Allies!
— Kracko's Pause Screen Description

Kracko appears as a Boss in Kirby Star Allies, where he is fought in Gabbel Moon. In this game, Kracko now also summons Chillys, alongside Waddle Doos. Kracko has 400 HP in Story Mode and Guest Star ???? Star Allies Go!, and 300 HP in The Ultimate Choice. (For reference, a Star Bullet does 52 damage.)

The following table lists all of Kracko's attacks in Kirby Star Allies. Attack names are conjectural unless otherwise noted.

Well, what a shocking coincidence, Sire. We happen to have a brand new monster that's absolutely electrifying! It's a huge thunderstorm monster...called Kracko.
— N.M.E. Sales Guy in A Dark & Stormy Knight

In the anime, Kracko appears in episode four, A Dark & Stormy Knight, notably referred to using neutral pronouns. It is a monster sent by Night Mare Enterprises at King Dedede's request. The N.M.E. Sales Guy describes Kracko as a company secret, and hopes to test Kracko out by sending it after Kirby.

Meta Knight finds out about the transaction, and tells Tuff to warn Kirby about Kracko's arrival, but he does not make it to Kirby and Tiff in time, and they are confronted by a giant storm. Kracko is obscured within the storm at first, and rains down lightning continually on Kirby in an attempt to kill him.

Kirby attempts to parry Kracko's lightning strikes, and tries to inhale its clouds, but this appears to be ineffective. Eventually, Kracko throws out a lightning bolt shaped like a scimitar. Kirby swallows this and obtains the Sword ability. Using this ability, Kirby throws a series of giant sword beams at Kracko, which cut the monster in half and defeat it.

This cloud-shaped creature keeps its eye out for Kirby—so it can blast the pink hero with lightning and rain.

Trivia[edit]

 • While Whispy Woods has served as a boss the most times in the series, Kracko has appeared in the most games of any other boss, not counting King Dedede.
 • Kracko is generally referred to with masculine pronouns, but he is occasionally referred to with neutral pronouns depending on the context (for example, his description in Kirby: Triple Deluxe and Holo-Kracko's description in Kirby: Planet Robobot).
 • In 3D games, Kracko's cloudy appearance is accomplished by using spheres that expand and contract while overlapping each other. In Kirby Star Allies, these spheres are actually metaballs, which use mathematic calculations to dynamically merge into each other and create an amorphous appearance. Since the metaballs are procedurally generated by the hardware, his actual model only consists of the eye and spikes.
