Kirby Submarine's Torpedo Time is the third stage of the level Indigo Ocean in Kirby and the Rainbow Curse. In this stage, Kirby makes use of the Kirby Submarine transformation for the first time, and uses it to traverse a bunch of deep underwater caverns while firing at all the enemies and obstacles which get in his way. Near the end, Kirby Submarine has to battle the Mid-Boss Deepsee.

Completing the stage unlocks The Claykken's Lair.

OverviewEdit

The stage begins with a small pool of water with a Blipper swimming in it. Kirby can make his way to the door at the bottom of the pool fairly quickly.

The next room is entirely underwater, and has a canvas in the middle. Once Kirby gets close enough, a cinematic begins where Elline appears to transform Kirby into the Kirby Submarine using the canvas. After this, the door forward appears.

The following area is a tutorial demonstrating to the player how the Kirby Submarine is controlled. This area is split into two rooms and can be skipped after completing the stage once.

The following area takes the Kirby Submarine through a relatively peaceful underwater tunnel, heading up, over, and down through stars and blocks that can be cleared away using the Kirby's Submarine's torpedoes. Near the bottom of this tunnel, a 1-Up can be obtained from behind some metal blocks by charging up and releasing a Star Torpedo (Submarine's equivalent of a Star Dash). The door forward is just below.

The following area is where the stage begins proper, as the music changes to a more active tune and the stage begins to auto-scroll. Kirby is taken down a fairly long underwater channel where he has to shoot down Blippers that try to get in his way, as well as blocks and bottles containing Point Stars. The first treasure chest can be obtained along this path.

The second auto-scrolling area introduces Sawgills, which can only be defeated with two torpedo shots to the body. Along the way, clam shells can be shot open to reveal items, including access to another treasure chest. Later on, Kirby will need to deal with a big school of Blippers which contains another treasure chest.

In the third auto-scrolling area, Kirby swims along tighter passages past Crabbos and later, Mini Deepsees. Two more treasure chests can be found along this path, the second of which is inside a challenge room. Just before reaching the door forward, a Maxim Tomato can be obtained to replenish Kirby's strength if need be.

The following room pits Kirby against the Mid-Boss Deepsee. Once this menace is defeated, the door forward opens up.

In this last room, Kirby is now back to normal. After riding out of the water, he can pass a landlocked Blipper and reach the roulette wheel at the end of the stage.

Treasure How to reach

Treasure 1: Crabbo Figurine
Toward the bottom of the first auto-scrolling area, this chest can be found behind some metal blocks, which can be broken using a Star Torpedo.

Treasure 2: Sawgill Figurine
One of the clam shells in the second auto-scrolling area contains a puzzle piece. Collecting all the pieces quickly enough will award this chest.

Treasure 3: Mini Deepsee Figurine
Further along the second auto-scrolling area, this chest can be seen moving along with a Blipper school. Kirby will need to grab it before it slips away with the Blippers.

Treasure 4: Deepsee Figurine
During the third auto-scrolling area, this chest can be found behind some metal blocks, which can be broken using a Star Torpedo.

Treasure 5: Boss Battle Track
This chest is inside a challenge room, which can be accessed along the third auto-scrolling area. Kirby needs to guide his torpedoes toward the switch in the room to get the chest.
