Kirby 3D Rumble is a Sub-Game that appears in Kirby: Planet Robobot. In it, Kirby is tasked with dispatching enemies that appear in a series of fully maneuverable 3-D environments without using any Copy Abilities. This sub-game would later be expanded into a standalone title called Kirby's Blowout Blast.

Each area in Kirby 3D Rumble is a platform of a certain size and shape, which Kirby can wander around on. Enemies appear in sequence, which Kirby can dispatch using either Star Blocks if they are available, or by swallowing other enemies or stars to spit at them. Score is kept for each enemy defeated, with combo chains leading to higher scores. At the same time, Kirby must avoid getting hit by the enemies, or falling off the edge of the stages (despite still being able to float, falling too far down will cause him to tumble out of bounds). Like in the main game, Kirby has finite Stamina and he will lose if he runs out of health. In addition, there are coins of various value scattered around the platforms, which Kirby can also collect to further increase his score. Once all the enemies are cleared on a certain stage, Kirby progresses to the next using a Warp Star, until the last stage of a level is complete. Once that is done, the score is tallied, and a trophy is awarded based on how high the score is.

Scoring

Scoring is based on many factors. The following lists every known value from the scoring system:

  • Bronze coin = 100 points
  • Silver coin = 300 points
  • Gold coin = 500 points
  • All standard enemies = 50 points*
  • Masher = 3000 points* (all varieties)
  • Combo hit (2 & 3) = +200 points to enemy defeated**
  • Combo hit (4 & 5)= +400 points to enemy defeated**
  • Combo hit (6+)= +700 points to enemy defeated**
  • Reach Combo x10 = +1000 points
  • Reach Combo x20 = +2000 points
    • etc. for higher combo levels
  • Kirby is hit = -100 points
  • No damage = +2000 points
  • Speed clear = +2000 points
  • All coins collected = +1000 points
  • Full Combos = +3000 points

*Enemies defeated are worth an additional 50 points during combo chains up to 10, with 100 points added on top for each combo level reached after that.

**Applies to projectiles only.

At the end of the level, a trophy is rewarded, ranging through Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. It is not required to earn Platinum on all stages in order to clear this Sub-Game.

Levels

The following are full layouts for each level. Each stage is a separate platform.

Level 1

This level bears a grassy theme and takes place during the daytime. It consists of four short stages.

Full Combo on this stage is 50.

The Green Greens theme from Kirby's Dream Land plays through most of the level, with Stage 1-4 playing the boss theme from Kirby's Dream Land 3 instead.

Stage 1-1

This platform consists of a simple square configuration with three star blocks in each corner, and a small dip in the middle. There are two silver coins and one gold coin here.

Enemies (in order of appearance):

Stage 1-2

This platform resembles a sideways Roman numeral two, with two bridges arcing across two separate small platforms, each holding two star blocks in each far corner. Here is where it first becomes conceivable that Kirby may fall off the stage if he jumps poorly. There are two bronze coins, two silver coins and two gold coins here.

Enemies (in order of appearance):

Stage 1-3

This platform is plus sign shaped, with a tree occupying all but the bottom extension of the platform, and no star blocks. There are two bronze coins and two silver coins here.

Enemies (in order of appearance):

Stage 1-4

The last platform is octagonal in shape, with four trees up near the top end of it. There are four separate evenly spaced blocks situated around the center, elevated above the rest of the platform, holding two gold coins, and two Food items. Once Masher is defeated, the level is complete.

Enemies (in order of appearance):

Level 2

This level is still a grassy theme, but is now set in the evening. It consists of four stages.

Full Combo on this stage is 45.

The Candy Mountain theme from Kirby Super Star plays through most of the level, with Stage 2-4 playing the boss theme from Kirby's Dream Land 3 instead.

Stage 2-1

This platform consists of a 5x5 central area with extended corners and two small extensions on the left and right side. There are two silver coins on these small extensions.

Enemies (in order of appearance):

Stage 2-2

This platform consists of a large 8x8 area bordered on all sides but the bottom by an elevated one block width barrier, holding numerous trees. There are four bronze coins and four silver coins.

Enemies (in order of appearance):

Stage 2-3

This platform is shaped like a sideways capital H, with Kirby appearing on the lower part. There are four star blocks on the lower part with him, and three trees on the upper part. There are two Food items and no coins.

Enemies (in order of appearance):

Stage 2-4

The last platform is rather large, and rounded on the bottom, with three elevated platforms with trees bordering it on its other sides. There are two silver coins, two gold coins and one food item to collect here. Once Masher is defeated, the level is complete.

Enemies (in order of appearance):

Level 3

This level is still a grassy theme, but is now set at nightfall. It consists of five stages.

Full Combo on this stage is 90.

The Celestial Valley theme from Kirby Air Ride plays through most of the level, with Stage 3-5 playing a remix of the boss theme from Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards instead. When the Red Masher appears, the music changes to a remix of the Dark Star theme.

Stage 3-1

The platform consists of a trench between two elevated cliffsides, on the left and right. There are two trees near the top of the trench. There are also three coins; one bronze, one silver, one gold.

Enemies (in order of appearance):

Stage 3-2

This platform is a rather complex one, consisting of a rectangular space with six elevated squares forming pillars around the middle, and numerous star blocks in-between these pillars. There are also three large star blocks, which take time to inhale, but are powerful projectiles when spat. There is one bronze coin, one silver coin, two gold coins, and a Food item.

Enemies (in order of appearance):

Stage 3-3

The platform consists of a figure 8 with two small tree-bearing extensions on the left and right sides. There are two bronze coins, one silver coin, and one gold coin.

Enemies (in order of appearance):

Stage 3-4

This platform is a wide one with a rounded bottom and two elevated cliffs in the top-left and top-right corners. There are three coins, one of each type, and two food items.

Enemies (in order of appearance):

Stage 3-5

The last platform is very wide, with elevated and extended corners with trees on them. There are four food items (one in each corner), two silver coins and 2 gold coins. Unlike in previous stages, the camera stays centered on Kirby due to the platform's size.

Enemies (in order of appearance):
