Primary character The story of Kirby: Right Back at Ya! begins when Kirby crashes into Dream Land as a result of his starship detecting eNeMeE's monsters causing havoc there. Kirby is introduced to the denizens of Dream Land, quickly sparking a friendship with the child characters Tiff and Tuff, but drawing immediate ire from King Dedede and Escargoon. At first, Kirby appears to be a helpless alien creature who is causing trouble with his voracious appetite, but Tiff soon discovers Kirby's latent abilities when she finds his Warp Star and uses it to give Kirby the strength he needs to fight off the monster which was eating Mayor Len's sheep. After that, Kirby tries to leave in his Starship, but King Dedede shoots it down, prompting Kirby to stay in Dream Land for the foreseeable future. "Oooh! Kirby! Kirby!" In the 4Kids version, Kirby is now redubbed by Amy Birnbaum whenever he says the names of the characters he meets. However, he is still voiced by Makiko Ohmoto for the rest of the series.
A Blockbuster Battle

Primary character In this episode, Kirby's new friends try to find him a job and a place to stay in Cappy Town, but due in part to Kirby's naivete and in part to King Dedede's sabotage, he is rejected at every turn. Instead, the kids decide to build Kirby his own house out in the countryside, but this too is sabotaged by King Dedede, who sends the monster Blocky out to pulverize Kirby. After an initial struggle, Kirby is eventually able to best Blocky using the Stone ability, and a new and more permanent house is built for him under a tree on a hill overlooking the town. "Poyo!"

Primary character In this episode, Kirby is challenged to a sword duel by Meta Knight, who seeks to train Kirby in the art of swordplay while pretending to obey King Dedede. Later on, Dedede sends the monster Bugzzy to attack Kirby, who Kirby defeats using the techniques he learned from his duel with Meta Knight. "Poyo! Pooiiyooo!" (in response to Meta Knight's letter)

Beware: Whispy Woods!

Primary character In this episode, Kirby is attacked by Whispy Woods over a misunderstanding planted by King Dedede, who uses the opportunity to cut Whispy and his forest down while the elder tree is occupied. Kirby is informed that some of the apples he ate earlier contain Whispy's life essence, so he searches inside himself for a while and finds it, spitting it back out and allowing Whispy Woods to recover. Primary character In this episode, Kirby is nearly tricked into eating Dyna Blade's chick, incurring the wrath of its mother. Primary character In this episode, Kirby is nearly butchered by Chef Kawasaki and made into a meal for a monster pretending to be the chef's master Chef Shiitake. Escargoon Squad

Secondary character In this episode, Kirby is enlisted to help Escargoon get revenge on King Dedede by scaring him out of his wits. He does this by throwing on a bed sheet and flying through the air, pretending to be a ghost. "Poyo Pooyooo!" This episode marks the first time Kirby has not been a primary character in the plot.

Kirby's Pet Peeve

Primary character In this episode, N.M.E. sends Kirby a robotic toy dog that was programmed to bond with him and then kill him in a self-destruct detonation when he least expects it. This bonding works after some initial hardship, as Kirby becomes enamored with the dog and defends it from his other friends. However, the dog grows too attached to Kirby in turn to carry out the act, and detonates on King Dedede instead, leaving Kirby bereaved. "Nooo pyuuu!"
A Fish Called Kine

Primary character In this episode, Kirby is put into a coma when he inhales a Noddy. His friends have to safeguard him as they travel into Babagahara to find the Pukey Flower, which is cited as the cure. The flower turns out to be a monster, however, though its fragrance still wakes Kirby up and allows him to help his friends defeat the beast using the Needle ability. Primary character In this episode, Knuckle Joe shows up in Dream Land to try and hunt down Kirby, who he believes is responsible for Joe's father's death long ago. After Kirby takes a severe beating from Knuckle Joe, Meta Knight later corrects the record by telling Joe what really happened to his father, and Kirby helps snap Joe out of his rage using the Needle ability. "Mmm-poy!" Kirby is trying to say "Okay!"

Primary character In this episode, Kirby is pursued by Chilly, who pretends to be his friend so he can have an opportunity to assassinate the pink puffball. However, Chilly finds he cannot go through with the act after several failed attempts. Later, Kirby and Chilly work together to defeat the monster Ice Dragon, which causes the climate of Dream Land to return to balmy tropical conditions. Kirby tries in vain to save Chilly from melting, but to no avail. "Chilly! Chilly! Chilly!"
A Princess in Dis-Dress

Primary character In this episode, Kirby accompanies Tiff and Princess Rona (disguised as Commander Vee) during the latter's visit to Dream Land. Later on, he helps Princess Rona defeat the monster Susshi, which King Dedede sent after them after being rejected by the princess. "Pooyoo?"

Primary character In this episode, Kirby heads to King Dedede's new factory and participates on the assembly line, only to be knocked into the inner machinery and roughed up. Later on, Kirby battles the factory's product - the Ice Dragon Robot - and defeats it by cracking the factory's main boiler, causing the entire complex to light on fire, taking the building and the robot down in a blaze. A Spice Odyssey

Primary character In this episode, Kirby takes part in the restaurant war between Chef Kawasaki and Monsieur Goan by eating the increasingly spicy foods produced. Later on, Monsieur Goan tries to kill Kirby by throwing him into a dry ice bowl, but Kawasaki saves him using his ultimate concoction - the Superspicy Curry - which causes Kirby to breathe gouts of flame that defeat Monsieur Goan and burn his restaurant down. Primary character In this episode, Kirby is given an egg to take care of, which hatches a baby Galbo. Kirby forms a bond with this small creature, which causes him to hesitate when the larger mother Galbo comes to destroy him. This hesitation is broken, however, when the mother Galbo attacks its child for favoring Kirby over her, leading Kirby to swiftly defeat the beast using the Fire ability. "Poyooa!"
Abusement Park

Primary character In this episode, Kirby and the kids head to King Dedede's amusement park built into the castle, but are taken on a dangerous ride through several traps, which ultimately fail to do Kirby in. Later on, a backup plan is hatched to trick Kirby into being teleported directly to eNeMeE's Fortress to be destroyed by N.M.E. through a karaoke contest. This nearly works, but Kirby is sent through with the Mike ability, which promptly defeats all the monsters waiting for him at N.M.E. headquarters and forces the company to send him back. *singing* "Ohayou! Kirby ha-poyooo!" This line is part of the lyrics for Kihon wa Maru.
A Dental Dilemma

Primary character In this episode, Kirby is present to watch most of the other characters' antics, but does not get directly involved until the monster Hardy appears. After Hardy tries to check Kirby's mouth fruitlessly for teeth, Kirby inhales Hardy's drill to gain the Tornado ability, and sends the monster packing with a quick gust of wind. "Pooyoooo!"

Primary character In this episode, Kirby heads to Chef Shiitake's cooking show, where he eats the Gijira Extract that was being used to adulterate the food and as a result is drugged to the point where he believes everyone to be food and chases after them. He is soon snapped out of this when the monster Cobgoblin attacks him, and defeats the monster using the Cook ability. (whispering) "Poyo."
The Kirby Derby - Part I

Primary character In this episode, Kirby is challenged by King Dedede to a Grand prix race around Dream Land. Tiff tries to keep Kirby out of the race, but Meta Knight insists they give it a go, in order to teach Kirby how to pilot his starship, which was recently repaired. Kirby joins the race with his starship along with Tokkori as a co-pilot. "Poyaaaaaah!"
The Kirby Derby - Part II

Primary character In this episode, Kirby races King Dedede around Dream land using his starship. In the process, King Dedede tries to use several course hazards along with the weapons on his Royal Racecar to try and trip Kirby up and make him crash. Instead, however, Kirby learns to pilot his starship to avoid these, and later gain the Wheel ability to finish the race with after trashing King Dedede's vehicle, taking second place after Mayor Len and his wife Hana. "Poy-eeee!"
Watermelon Felon

Primary character In this episode, Kirby is framed by King Dedede for several non-existent crimes and manages to convince the townsfolk of his guilt. Later on, however, Tiff manages to counter this by distributing a newspaper stating the facts, and after a brief media war, Kirby is sent to return all of King Dedede's junk papers to him personally. Primary character In this episode, Kirby and the rest of Dream Land head to Castle Dedede to participate in a "magic school" set up by Dedede after the whole town became infatuated with a fantasy book called "Pappy Pottey and the Fool's Stone". This turns out to be a trap designed to defeat Kirby, who has to contend with the Broom King, and defeats him using the Cleaning ability. "Poyo poyooh."

Primary character In this episode, Kirby comforts Escargoon after the monster Erasem makes everyone forget who he is. Later, Kirby helps tend to Escargoon while he is undergoing a procedure to force the monster out using as much pain as possible. Once the monster tries to flee, Kirby inhales Erasem, saving Escargoon, but causing everyone to forget who he is instead. Eventually, Erasem leaves Kirby's body voluntarily. "Pooyyy."

Primary character In this episode, Kirby is attacked by the monster Masher, who nearly succeeds in pulverizing the pink puffball into oblivion due to Knuckle Joe's leadership, having apparently turned traitor. However, at the last moment, Knuckle Joe reveals his true intentions and helps Kirby defeat Masher instead by giving him the Fighter ability. "Pooyo! Hiiiii!"
Prediction Predicament - Part I

Primary character In this episode, Kirby terrifies King Dedede inadvertently because Dedede had a nightmare about Kirby turning into a fireball and chasing after him. To try and stop Kirby, Dedede calls for the ice monster Fridgy to go after him, but Kirby uses the Fire ability to defeat the beast, further frightening Dedede due to his nightmare's portents. This is later resolved by revealing a red star in the sky to be the "true" source of Dedede's nightmare, but Kirby observes that the star is getting closer through Tiff's telescope. "Pooiiieeee....."
Prediction Predicament - Part II

Primary character In this episode, Kirby waits for his and Dream Land's impending doom, seemingly oblivious to it. Just before the end, King Dedede takes Kirby to see a playground built for him and the kids in Cappy Town in an attempt at repentance, but both are shortly swept into the sky by the winds created by the approaching meteor. Using his Warp Star and the cannonballs that were shot out from the castle in an attempt to divert the asteroid's course, Kirby is able to supply enough extra firepower to redirect the meteor, sending it away from Dream Land and saving the world. "Pooyooo!" *cheerful laughing* "Poyo!"

Primary character In this episode, Kirby is attacked by a rogue sheep named Amon, who was turned into a monster by an errant lightning bolt. Kirby tries to use the Needle ability to fight Amon, but is nearly defeated, with Amon only relenting his attack due to other circumstances. "Awoooooooh!"
War of the Woods

Primary character In this episode, Kirby and the kids get into a misunderstanding with the creatures that live in the Eastern Forest, which is later resolved when they learn of King Dedede's intention to clear out Acore and the woods. Kirby drives away King Dedede using the Cutter ability, and later helps the others keep Acore safe during a flash flood caused by the King in one more attempt to clear out the woods. "Poyo!"
Scare Tactics - Part I

Primary character In this episode, Kirby attends a "scare-off" in the woods orchestrated by the people of Cappy Town, which is later sabotaged by King Dedede and Escargoon. Despite this, Kirby ends up scaring these two away, but is later locked with Tiff in a Haunted mansion. "Heh heh heh heh heh heh eyuuu..."
Scare Tactics - Part II

Primary character In this episode, Kirby and Tiff avoid the hazards present in the haunted mansion as the other principal characters later join them. Another scheme is hatched to have Kirby sent to N.M.E. headquarters to be dispatched, but this is thwarted by Meta Knight, leaving N.M.E. to throw Gabon at Kirby as a plan B. Gabon is quickly defeated by the Fire ability, however, and the flames take the haunted mansion with them as everyone escapes. *ghostly laughter*

Primary character In this episode, after the Waddle Dees are forced out of Castle Dedede en masse, Kirby is sent disguised as one to try and see what was in the box they took with them to the beach, but fails to get any good pictures. Later on, Kirby helps the Waddle Dees defeat the Domestic Servant Robot that replaced them by using the Stone ability, and dances with the Waddle Dees when they get their jobs back. "Pooyeee?"
Tourist Trap

Primary character In this episode, Kirby attends the tour of Dream Land hosted by King Dedede and Escargoon and watches as it turns into a disaster. Later on, he is tasked with defeating the monster Flame Feeder at the Booma-Dooma Volcano using the Ice ability, putting on a good show for the tourists in the process. "Poa-nya-nyow!"

Primary character In this episode, through a series of unfortunate misunderstandings, Kirby comes to believe that he is no longer welcome in Dream Land, and prepares to leave. Just before heading out, however, his friends catch wind if the misunderstanding and bring him to a party set up specifically for him to celebrate his first year in Dream Land. King Dedede nearly ruins the party by sending the monster Dangerous Bomb to attack him, but Kirby swiftly defeats this monster using the Bomb ability. "Pao-yah!"

Primary character In this episode, Kirby tags along with the kids to attend the Dedede Academy, where he is roundly abused by whoever puts on the teacher's cap. This cap is later revealed to be the monster Teacher Creature, who Kirby defeats using the Fighter ability, taking the school with it. "Po-ie-you." Kirby may be attempting to say "I don't know."
The Meal Moocher

Primary character In this episode, Kirby is invited to have dinner with various Cappy Town residents, which prompts King Dedede to start a tasting show out of jealousy. Kirby later has to save King Dedede from Garnie after a series of foolish decisions from the King which led to the incident, defeating it using the Cook ability. "Kani!" Crusade for the Blade

Primary character In this episode, Kirby is present for the night raid of Castle Dedede by the revenge-driven Sirica, who is after Meta Knight. Later on, Kirby has to battle the monster Kirisakin using the Sword ability, but is beaten back. After learning the truth about her mother's death, Sirica helps Kirby defeat Kirisakin by tossing him the Galaxia, which was knocked out of Meta Knight's hands during the fight. "Poyo! Poyo! Bye-bye!"
Fitness Fiend

Primary character In this episode, Kirby becomes morbidly obese after eating chips that were sent to him by Night Mare Enterprises specifically to fatten him up. Since Dedede also foolishly ate these chips, he calls for the fitness monster Max Flexer to help him and Kirby get back into shape. In the process, Max Flexer tries to kill Kirby by squishing him flat, but this only causes Kirby to spit out the chips he ate and return to his normal size. From there, Kirby uses the Mike ability to defeat Max Flexer, and also causes Castle Dedede to collapse. "Poy, poy, poy, poy, po-yo, po-yo..."
Mabel Turns the Tables

Primary character In this episode, Kirby helps Mabel teach the people of Dream Land a lesson about superstition and blind faith by using the Tornado ability to put on a show of parting the water of the sea on Mabel's command. He later uses the ability to punish King Dedede and Escargoon for trying to attack Mabel after the fact. "Poyo po-poyo."
Something to Sneeze At

Primary character In this episode, King Dedede uses a shrink ray to shrink Kirby down to the size of a pill so Kirby can enter King Dedede's body and rid him of the Head Cold Monsters that he ingested due to a vain misunderstanding. Kirby goes along with this and tries to inhale the viruses, but King Dedede accidentally interrupts the process, forcing Kirby to spit them back out and ejecting the pink puffball from his body in the process, leaving Dedede to suffer the consequences of his bad decisions. "Poyooo..."
The Kirby Quiz

Primary character In this episode, Kirby and Tiff team up in a quiz show run by N.M.E. During the show, King Dedede tries to cheat by distracting Kirby with a watermelon while he adjusts the scores, but Kirby ends up accidentally exposing the trick by revealing the Waddle Dee responsible for the tampering. The Chill Factor

Primary character In this episode, Kirby and the kids try to stop the Pengys' takeover of Dream Land once their intentions are revealed. After a few setbacks, they manage to head into the castle and confront Master Pengy in a pitched duel, but Kirby is unable to overcome the Pengy leader on his own. Instead, he is given a bottle of hot sauce and uses it to cause the Booma-Dooma Volcano to erupt, reversing the climate change brought on by the Pengys giant air conditioner and forcing them to move on to another land. "Yuki payo!" "Yuki" is the Japanese word for "Snow". Kirby says this word even in the 4Kids version.
The School Scam

Primary character In this episode, Kirby attends Dedede Academy for a second time, but is bullied by Dirk, Kirk, and Smirk, sent there as "transfer students". Later on, after Tiff tries to deal with these delinquents personally, they turn into a monster and ensnare her, prompting Kirby to step in and defeat the three using the Fighter ability, blowing up the school a second time in the process. "Wha? Ooh, POYO!!"
Delivery Dilemma

Primary character In this episode, Kirby is tasked to help Chef Kawasaki's faltering restaurant by delivering ramen noodles to King Dedede, but he has difficulty controlling his inborn desire to eat the food and is forced to sit in struggle with himself all night, failing to make the delivery in a timely manner. Assuming Kirby ate his delivery, King Dedede calls on the monster Delivery Man to do the job instead, and Kirby later has to battle the Delivery Man, defeating him using the Jet ability. After this, Kirby uses the ability to finish his delivery, but by now, the food has gone stale, so King Dedede lets Kirby have it. "Pooyayaeee!"
Trick or Trek

Primary character In this episode, Kirby joins Tiff's nature tour which was hijacked by King Dedede and Escargoon for their own purposes. Later on, Kirby uses the Tornado ability to put out a massive forest fire which was accidentally started by Dedede and Escargoon, thus saving everyone trapped in the woods. "Suika poyo!"
Buccaneer Birdy

Primary character In this episode, Kirby tags along as the people of Cappy Town hunt for the lost pirate treasure said to be buried in the area. In the process, he is forced to battle against Moggy sent after him to buy Dedede some time as he tries and fails to get away with the treasure. Kirby defeats this monster using the Mirror ability. "Poy!"

Primary character In this episode, Kirby is present during King Dedede's whaling tour which goes horribly awry. He later helps the stranded whale reunite with its mother. "Sushi poyo!"
Waddle While You Work

Secondary character In this episode, King Dedede paints Kirby as a Waddle Dee and sells him to Mayor Len, who is none-the-wiser. Later on, Kirby shows up when King Dedede is being attacked by Dyna Blade and helps the Waddle Dees rescue their foolish King. *licks lips* "Poyo, poyo, poyo!"
Dedede's Raw Deal

Primary character In this episode, Kirby participates in the revolving sushi bar craze, eating as much sushi as he can when King Dedede sends the conveyor belt through his house. Among these dishes is a Sweet Potato sushi which gives Kirby the hiccups, preventing him from inhaling properly. In this moment of weakness, Dedede sends the monster Squishy after Kirby to attack him, but Tiff manages to scare Kirby out of his hiccups so he can defeat Squishy using the Spark ability. "Po-pooyoooo!"
Caterpillar Thriller

Primary character In this episode, Kirby is disturbed by the appearance of the giant monster Mosugaba, who shoots him away using streams of silk. Later on, when Mosugaba transforms into its final moth form, Kirby is onset by intense allergies due to Mosugaba's shed scales, but eventually, the issue is resolved when Kirby reunites the Island Sisters with the giant moth so they can go home in peace. "Poyo! Poyoy! Ehh...poyye, poyooyo!"
Fossil Fools - Part I

Primary character In this episode, Kirby helps Professor Curio dig up some dinosaur fossils. Later, Kirby comes along with Tiff to Doctor Moro's laboratory to help collect samples for genetic experiments. After Doctor Moro mysteriously vanishes with the dinosaur eggs that were produced, Kirby goes to King Dedede's dinosaur park and gets on the tour boat with the other characters. "Poouuh... Uhh, poyo! Pooyo!"
Fossil Fools - Part II

Primary character In this episode, Kirby and the other principal characters are attacked by Doctor Moro's Chimera Dinosaurs. In the process, Kirby's DNA is stolen and used to make the Kirby-saurus, which Kirby later defeats along with the other dinosaur hybrids using the Crash ability. "Yaaaiie suikaa poyoo!"
Dedede's Monsterpiece

Primary character In this episode, Kirby attends the grand opening of the Royal Acadddemy of Arts, and in particular is enamored by a painting of a fruit bowl. He is later attacked by Paint Roller and his paintings, and fights back using the Paint copy ability, destroying the Acadddemy when defeating Paint Roller. *angrily* "Poyo! Poyooo!"

Primary character In this episode, Kirby interacts with the Escar-droid a few times, mainly being attacked by it. He later defeats the Escar-droid using the Bomb ability. "Poyo!"

Primary character In this episode, Kirby is bothered by Bonkers, who is tricked into trying to attack Kirby to prove his mettle as a Star Warrior by King Dedede. Kirby later has to use the Hammer ability to pacify Bonkers after he was turned into a monster by N.M.E. "Poyo!"

Primary character In this episode, Kirby causes a mess when he is given some Pump-Up D by transforming into Stone Kirby and rushing through the town and forest. Later on, Kirby is accidentally given some Power-Down E, making him too weak to fight against the Red Viper. Before Kirby is done in, however, he is given more Pump-Up D, and uses the energy from it to toss Red Viper into the Sun. "Poyo pooyooo!"
A Trashy Tale

Primary character In this episode, Kirby helps Escargoon find a temporary replacement shell after King Dedede gets a little too curious about what Escargoon would look like without one and breaks his old one. Later on, Kirby has to battle Maimaigon - the monster which Escargoon transformed into after being given a new shell by N.M.E. - and defeat him using the Hammer ability, returning Escargoon to normal. "Poya-kku! Poyo, poyo!" Kirby is attempting to say the work "snack".

Primary character In this episode, Kirby merely tags along with the other characters in their escapades, at one point trying to propose his own cartoon ideas to Biggy, Boney, and Sleepy. Later on, Kirby is drafted into making a cartoon by Dis Walney, who later reveals himself to be the monster Anige trying to destroy Kirby using motion capture control. Kirby is freed from Anige's influence and defeats the monster using the Spark ability. "Poya pa-poyah! Poyo! Poohyo, poh! Peeyo pah poh! Poyo!"

Primary character In this episode, King Dedede is snubbed by Kirby accidentally when Kirby brings him a watermelon that had already been mostly eaten on Dedede's "D'Preciation Day". As revenge, King Dedede tricks Kirby into eating a cartful of watermelons with bombs inside them, causing Kirby to rocket away as the bombs explode in his stomach. To retaliate for this, Tiff tricks Dedede into thinking he had just killed Kirby by doing this, and Kirby plays dead for a while until he is roused by a watermelon. He later has to battle and defeat the monster Chuckie, which was a gift from Dedede that was not intended to be a monster. "Suika poyo!"

Primary character In this episode, Kirby is possessed by the Demon Frog and forced to cause havoc in Dream Land by destroying as many things as possible. Eventually, Tiff is able to call out to Kirby and free him from the frog's influence. From there, Kirby has to battle the monster Heavy Anaconda which was sent to eat whatever the Demon Frog was controlling (which eventually turned out to be King Dedede). *evil laughter*
Air-Ride-in-Style - Part I

Primary character In this episode, Kirby has to defeat another Destroya that is attacking Dream Land, but is too late to stop Cappy Town from burning down. The people of Cappy Town initially blame Kirby for the attack, but they are eventually brought to heel and recruited to help Meta Knight launch a retaliatory attack on Night Mare Enterprises. Kirby and his closest allies come with Meta Knight as they fly out to eNeMeE's Fortress using the Halberd. "Poyoa?"

Fright to the Finish

Primary character In this episode, Kirby does battle with eNeMeE's Air Riders in the fortress, and later flies after eNeMeE directly when he kidnaps Tiff. Kirby tries to attack eNeMeE but cannot harm him, instead being lulled to sleep. eNeMeE infiltrates Kirby's dreams and starts to torment him from inside, but Tiff throws the Warp Star to Kirby, giving him the Star Rod, which he uses to defeat eNeMeE once and for all. Later on, Kirby and his allies escape the fortress as it is set to explode, destroying Night Mare Enterprises. Kirby is left to live in peace with his friends in Dream Land, as King Dedede no longer has any means to call monsters to create problems. "Mmm...Pooyo!"
