Stage 2 of Kirby's Block Ball is the second of eleven stages in the game, featured as a waterfall-sporting island in the bottom-right corner of the map. This stage features five rounds with no Copy Abilities and hosts Big Squishy as its boss. The Border Line score for this stage is 120000 points.

Intro cutscene[edit]

A portion of the intro cutscene, demonstrating the Paddle Power action.

After the stage is selected, a brief cutscene plays which demonstrates how to use the Power Paddle action to make Kirby assume full form. Once this is done in the cutscene, Kirby flies up and hits a Cappy, defeating it. After the collision, Cappy's cap falls on Kirby, enveloping him. Kirby struggles to get out of the cap, and then poses with it on his head.

Overview[edit]

Stage 2 consists of three Block Areas, one Target-Shooting Area featuring Squishy, and a Boss Area against Big Squishy. These rooms are lain out as follows:

Round Description

Round 2-1
The first area consists of a rectangular barricade with an envelope of Power Blocks along its edges. Two Blippers patrol the area above, and a Glunk sits in the middle of the formation. Inside the Power Block rectangle are a number of Gray and White blocks. To break through the barrier, the player needs to make use of the Paddle Power action to allow Kirby to assume full form.

The area is complete once all blocks have been removed.

Round 2-2
The second area features a more solid rectangular formation with Power Blocks forming a bending line throughout, and a Slippy and Coner patrolling above. Inside the formation is a Switch Star which, if touched, will turn all remaining blocks into Through Blocks and begin a Bonus Chance. Done optimally, a great deal of points can be gained on this floor.

The area is complete once all blocks have been removed.

Round 2-3
The third area features a block formation which takes the shape of a stick figure moving along a Power Block floor, with shelves to the right holding two Boolers. The head of the stick figure is a Pinball Block, which cannot be destroyed and will bump Kirby away on contact. When defeated, the Boolers drop Block Flip items which change all existing White Blocks into Gray ones, and vice-versa. To the left of the stick figure formation, a hidden Warp Star can be found which will take Kirby to a Sub-Game.

The area is complete once all blocks except the Pinball Block have been removed.

Round 2-4 (Target-Shooting)
The fourth area displays three rows of Star Blocks amidst four Pinball Blocks and two Power Blocks, with a Squishy patrolling the top area. The Pinball Blocks can make navigating this area tricky, as they can propel Kirby very quickly toward the spike bed. Once Squishy has been hit four times, he will retreat, and a Warp Star will appear.

The area is complete once Kirby touches the Warp Star.

Round 2-5 (boss)
In the last area, Kirby must contend with Big Squishy, who attacks by grabbing Kirby and tossing him at a different angle. This area has spike beds and paddles on all four sides. Big Squishy must be hit 12 times to be defeated, thus clearing the stage.
