Keeby[conjectural title] (キービィ[1] Kībii) is the official nickname of the following characters:
- The yellow Kirby of his species who made his first appearance as the 2P in Kirby's Dream Course;
- The yellow Kirby in the Super Smash Bros. series, who is playable as the second palette swap.
Keeby is also often used by fans to refer to other yellow Kirby appearances in the Kirby series.
Description
Keeby is bright yellow with large blue eyes and orange feet. Like Kirby, he is also able to obtain Copy Abilities, and plays exactly the same in every respect to his pink counterpart.
In Kirby's Dream Course, Keeby can be controlled by the second player in the 2P Mode. In the English version of the game, Keeby is not named.
Trivia
- Keeby's color scheme may be a reference to how Shigeru Miyamoto wanted Kirby to be colored yellow before Masahiro Sakurai decided that he should be pink.
- Keeby's color scheme is similar to Beam Kirby's appearance in Kirby Super Star and Kirby Super Star Ultra. However, Beam Kirby has more redish feet.
- Green Kirby also has an official nickname: くさもちカービィ[1] (Kusa mochi Kirby). Kusa mochi (literally "grass mochi") is a green Japanese sweet.
