"Invasion at the House of Horrors" is the main theme for the stage of the same name in Kirby and the Forgotten Land. It was composed by Jun Ishikawa.[1]

Composition[edit]

Kirby invading the house of horrors.

"Invasion at the House of Horrors" is an electronic piece with stylistic elements of post-disco era genres like synth-pop, electro, and house, including a four-on-the-floor rhythm heard across many forms of electronic dance music as well as their common antecedent, disco. The track is set in the key of A minor, at a tempo of around 116 bpm.

Its short intro consists of multiple quick notes immediately followed by drums that set the rhythm. As the percussion starts its rhythm pattern, the first section begins; two long notes play per bar in this section, with every four notes getting a response from a unique instrument, until the melody resolves. The following section has the main melody played by a harsh synth at first, as the loud percussion continues to mark the song's tempo; while the percussion stays consistent, the melody is passed to other synthesized instruments over time. Afterwards is a bridge passage that features a more dramatic melody and lighter instruments, but with the percussion still unchanged. A rising melody plays, and then reaches a climax as the percussion goes silent, followed by an electronic beat, resuming the percussion right after, at first devoid of melody. An electric guitar-like instrument plays a couple notes and is then followed by a harsh synth and various electronic beats that build up the song, and are immediately interrupted by a quick percussion break that transitions the song to its loop.

After one loop, a countermelody played by a guitar is added to the first section of the song; otherwise, it is unchanged.
