is a type of invincible enemy and hazard which debuted in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. It is a green trapezoidal box with rounded edges and a single, large eye on its front side. I³ is invincible and repeatedly moves up and down, attempting to land on Kirby and do him harm. While it will hurt Kirby if it hits him or he touches it, it cannot crush him, instead just dealing him one bar of damage and knocking him away like any other enemy. I³ appears on the 32nd Enemy Info Card.

In Kirby Star Allies, Adeleine can paint an I³ which will fight her enemies by leaping forward, then landing on them.

TriviaEdit

  • In behavior, I³s resemble the Thwomp enemies from the Mario series.
    • Their behavior is also similar to an enemy called a Thudd, which also acts as a Thwomp.
  • Most likely by coincidence, I³ and are the only enemies in the Kirby series who have exponent numbers in their names, and both of them occupy the same game.

Unclear, but possible origins or influences include:
  • Anagram of「粘土」(nendo, clay)
  • 「どん」(don, Japanese onomatopoeia for crushing)
  • 「ドッスン」(dossun, the Japanese name for Thwomps, itself deriving from Japanese onomatopoeia for heavy thumping)
