Hornhead is a giant rhinoceros beetle-like Mid-Boss with an indigo carapace, four legs with cup-like feet that are larger on the hind legs, and a massive triceratops-like horn for a face with two brown eyes inset. Like an actual beetle, he has wings and can fly, but he tends to stay on the ground most of the time, where he will attempt to ram Kirby or grab him with his horn. Hornhead grants the Beetle Copy Ability when ingested.

In the Kirby novel seriesEdit
In the Kirby novel series, Hornhead is briefly mentioned in Kirby: Big Race in Pupupu Land!. He is one of the "cool" pets that Kizario's friends owned, which made them tease him about Peperon.
Hornhead also makes an appearance in Kirby: Uproar at the Kirby Café?!. He leads a group of Beetleys that was called by an alarm after Kirby touches a spider's web. After questioning Kirby and King Dedede about their motives and being informed that they want to take the Green Spider Grass, Hornhead becomes mad at their want to steal the insects treasure and orders the Beetleys to attack them. When the insects defeat Kirby and Dedede in a battle, Hornhead orders the beetleys to throw them in jail. Later, Hornhead becomes angry finding out that Kirby and Dedede are in the pantry. He calls them to get back into their jail cell, but they are to busy eating to bother. Hornhead pushes Kirby with his horn, and Kirby screams at him. Kirby inhales Hornhead and gets the Beetle copy ability.
