Editors require means of communication with other editors in order to maximize their potential and prevent editing disputes. For this reason, each article on the wiki can have a Talk page (otherwise known as a Discussion page). On these pages, editors are expected to talk with each-other in first person, and sign their name at the end of their comments.

How to use a talk page

The primary purpose of a talk page is to discuss changes and improvements to articles. As such, they should not be used for general discussion, even if that discussion is related to the article topic. When leaving a comment in a talk page, it is required that an editor sign their comment once finished. To do this, the editor can use the following code at the end of their posts:

~~~~
This code will automatically add the editor's username, with links to the editor's userpage and talk page, and will also add the time and date of the signing.
Whenever starting a new conversation in a talk page, the editor should create a new section with an appropriate title, as if creating a section in an article.
Responding to other posts
When responding to the post of another user, the editor should begin their sentence with a number of colons, (:) one greater than the amount in the post being responded to. For example, take this real conversation:
Hi Samwell, while I was editing some character pages, I noticed this inconsistency. Which one should we use? Same for "Physical (A/a)ppearance. {{User:Superbound/sig}} 13:20, 7 July 2020 (UTC)
:Hello. Generally speaking, you should only capitalize the first letter for section titles. Same rules apply as for regular sentences. As such, use "Game appearances". --[[User:Samwell|Samwell]] ([[User talk:Samwell|talk]]) 13:25, 7 July 2020 (UTC)
::Alright, thanks a lot! {{User:Superbound/sig}} 13:26, 7 July 2020 (UTC)
It will render like so:
User talk pages
In addition to article talk pages, there are also user talk pages. These can be used for more general discussion between users, but the same rules of formatting still apply. In addition, there are codes of conduct to be followed between users, which can be read about on the Talk page policy page.
