As with many other wikis, WiKirby has a number of special pages which can be used to locate articles and other pages categorized by various parameters. Using these pages will allow editors to more easily perform certain maintenance tasks, such as fixing double redirects, finding pages with no internal links leading to them, and finding unused files, among other things. This page will briefly go over each special page accessible from the special pages index as appropriate. There are some pages which can be seen only by Admins+, which will not be listed here:

(for an unannotated version of this list, see this page instead)

List of pages

Maintenance reports

  • Broken redirects - This page shows the user every redirect page which links to an uncreated (or deleted) page. Generally, there should be no results in this report, and those which show up ought to be corrected by creating the page being linked to, or changing the redirect.
  • Dead-end pages - This page shows which articles on the wiki do not link to other articles. This can be corrected by inserting at least one internal link into the pages listed. Again, there should be no results in this report.
  • Double redirects - This page shows all redirects which point to other redirects. These can be fixed by pointing the offending redirects to a proper article. Again, there should be no results in this report.
  • Long pages - This page lists every page on the wiki from longest to shortest, where long is defined by the size of the page in bytes. This can be useful to find pages which might benefit from being shortened in accordance with the long page policy.
  • Oldest pages - This page lists each page on the wiki based on how long they have gone without being edited. The top pages on this list should be checked to see if any information needs to be updated.
  • Orphaned pages - This page lists every article on the wiki which is not linked to by other articles. This list does not include redirects. Ideally, the only pages in this list should be disambiguation pages.
  • Pages with the fewest revisions - This page lists every page on the wiki starting with those with the fewest revisions (or shortest history pages). The top items on this list that are not redirects should be checked to see if any mistakes were left behind.
  • Pages without language links - These are pages which do not link to other-language wikis. Given that WiKirby has no other-language equivalents, there are no pages that do. This may change in future.
  • Protected pages - These are pages which have had protections applied to them by Admins+. Usually these pages are archive pages or pages relating to the site itself.
  • Protected titles - These are uncreated pages which have protections set against users creating them. As such, pages on this list will forever remain red links unless the protection is removed.
  • Short pages - This page lists each page on the wiki from shortest to longest, opposite to the Long pages list. Articles at the top of this list that are not disambiguation pages may be stubs which could use more information.
  • Uncategorized categories - This page lists any category pages which do not belong to a category. Ideally this list should be empty. To fix an entry on this list, the editor may add a category to the page in question.
  • Uncategorized files - This page lists any files which do not belong to a category. Ideally this list should be empty. To fix an entry on this list, the editor may add a category to the file in question.

  • Unused categories - This page lists any created category pages which are empty. Ideally there should be very few pages listed here, though some - like the To be deleted category page - are ideally empty.
  • Unused files - This page lists any files that are not being used in pages. Ideally this list should be as small as possible.

  • Unwatched pages - This page shows the user all pages that he/she is not presently watching. This list will vary for each user.

  • Wanted files - This page shows all uncreated file pages that are called by pages ordered by number of pages which link to them. Ideally this list should be empty, and entries can be fixed either by uploading the file to the specified name or removing the file link in the page calling it.
  • Wanted pages - This page shows all uncreated articles that are called by pages ordered by number of pages which link to them. Ideally this list should be small, and entries can be fixed either by creating the page in question or removing all links to it in pages.
  • Wanted templates - This page shows all uncreated templates that are called by pages ordered by number of pages which link to them. Ideally this list should be empty, and entries can be fixed either by creating the template in question or removing all links to it in pages.
