Help:Protected Page

I'll protect you!

Protected Pages are just that: articles which have been protected to stop any editor who is not an Administrator from editing them. This is usually done to userspace and policy pages; all mainspace articles are unprotected (per a proposal that passed on November 25, 2020).

Protection Levels

  • An Unprotected page allows all users to edit. Pages with this level of protection may also usually be moved by any registered user.
  • Autoconfirmed Users Only protected pages prevents the newest members from editing a page; only Autoconfirmed users may edit them. This is generally reserved for user pages.
  • Administrators Only is the highest level of protection. This prevents anyone from editing or moving a page unless they have Administrator privileges enabled. This level of protection is reserved for pages outside the mainspace, such as policy and archive pages.

(Note that the above levels of protection may be applied independently to editing and moving rights; e.g. an article that can be edited by all users may not always be movable by them.)
