Great Elder of the Magic Guild

The Great Elder of the Magic Guild[Japanese title] is a guest character featured in the Kirby novel series, and makes his guest appearance in Kirby and the Search for the Dreamy Gears!. He is a great wizard who gifted Kirby the Star Compass which helps him find the gears. He also helps expose Hugo's scheme to the citizens of Diamond Town.
Characteristics[edit]
The Great Elder of the Magic Guild is an old man with a white beard which split into two parts and tied at the tips. He has a robe and a wizard's hat with a gear pattern on it and a buckle. He holds a wizard's wand.
He is a wise old man which has knowledge of the ancient machine and the legend surround it. However, it is implied that he has less knowledge than it seems when he said that the ancient civilization curse is turning people into chocolate instead of just covering them in chocolate.
Role in Kirby and the Search for the Dreamy Gears![edit]

Before the events of the story, the Great Elder of the Magic Guild gifts Kirby the Star Compass for defeating a monster in the City of Magic. He warns Kirby to not let the compass fall into evil hands, since it will bring terrifying results.
By end of the story, the Great Elder was disguises himself as one of Hugo's subordinates because he wants to see the ancient machine for himself. After Hugo tells the group that nobody will believe them if they expose him, the Great Elder reveals himself and says that he heard everything and would serve as a witness when they expose Hugo. The Elder tells the group that the purpose of the ancient machine was to fulfil everyone's wishes. After Hugo touches the ancient machine and is covered in chocolate, the Great Elder says that he was turned into chocolate from the curse of the ancient civilization. When they notice that Hugo was just covered in chocolate, the Great Elder regrets his words and says that the curse was only to be covered in chocolate.
