Grape Garden - Stage 4 is the fourth stage of Grape Garden, the fourth level of Kirby's Adventure and its remake, Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land.

Overview

The stage takes place in five major areas. The first has Kirby walking along a straightforward path past a multitude of enemies.

The next area has Kirby bounding between platforms over a wide pit.

From there, Kirby finds himself on a long series of alternating slopes leading downward. Kirby can use the Wheel ability here to race a Bomb Block trigger and hopefully reach the bottom before it does to net a 1-Up.

The next room is a cave containing a few trapped enemies. To the right is a pit containing a Phan Phan (or Rolling Turtle in Adventure). Defeating and swallowing it yields the Throw ability.

The last room is a tunnel which can serve as a practice area for the Throw ability. The stage exit lays at the end of this path.

Differences between versions

While graphical changes and re-interpretations are common between the two versions of the game, the change is particularly notable in this stage. The first area is depicted as a flat artificial construct with lots of turbines in the background in Kirby's Adventure, while in Nightmare in Dream Land, it instead resembles a more natural forest landscape with a variable floor. The second area likewise features a more abstract layout in the older title, while in the newer one, it is a continuation of the forest theme. In addition, the choice of music for this stage also differs between versions, with Kirby's Adventure using the main 'Grape Garden' theme and Nightmare in Dream Land using the 'Forest' theme.
