This robust swimmer has a powerful jaw. It floats on the water's surface, watching and waiting for its prey. Its hide is as tough as armor, so you'll need something bigger than a Copy Ability to take him down...Do you think Mouthful Mode would do the trick?
— Figure description from Kirby and the Forgotten Land

Gnawcodile is a big black crocodile-like enemy that is part of the Beast Pack and first appeared in Kirby and the Forgotten Land. It is typically seen swimming in water, either holding still or moving in set patrol patterns. If Kirby gets within range, Gnawcodile will make a big and dramatic dive under his position and then bite upward to try and catch him. If successful, Gnawcodile will drag Kirby under and chew on him until Kirby escapes (by having the player mash the control stick). Gnawcodile cannot be inhaled, and cannot be damaged by ordinary attacks. To defeat Gnawcodile, Kirby must make use of a Mouthful Mode, with the typical method being ramming into it using a boat powered by Ring Mouth. Defeating Gnawcodile in this way earns Kirby a green Star Coin.

Gnawcodile's name is a portmanteau of the words "gnaw" and "crocodile".

Trivia

  • The figure description for Gnawcodile seems to erroneously refer to the enemy with both neuter and masculine pronouns simultaneously. Given that "it" appears thrice, while "him" only appears once, neuter is likely the correct set of pronouns to use.
