Freeze Fan[1] is an item which appears in the Top Ride mode of Kirby Air Ride. It appears randomly during standard races, dropping onto the course. When a racer picks it up, that racer's vehicle will be equipped with a large blue fan on the front, which will continuously blow freezing wind. While active, the racer can freeze his opponents by getting close behind them. Frozen opponents will be unable to move, forcing the players controlling them to mash the control stick to free them faster.
The Freeze Fan can be removed prematurely if the racer is hit, does a Quick Spin, or falls into a stage hazard. The item will also disappear on its own accord about 8 seconds after being picked up.
