Francisca (named Fran Kiss/Cis in Japan) is a Boss who made her debut in Kirby Star Allies. She is described as the Frozen General of the Three Mages, and serves Hyness, the main antagonist of the game.
Her appearance is very similar to that of Susie, but she is dressed as a military general and doesn't have visible feet. She fights with her icy axe, ice-based magic (powers she was granted after being saved by Hyness from a death from hypothermia), and a soda gun. Of the sisters, Francisca is the most quiet and reserved. She has a very close bond to Flamberge in particular.

Trivia
*Francisca's English name is directly taken from the name of a particular type of axe, fitting due to her choice of weapon. However, the type of axe she uses matches the description of a labrys better, due to being a double-bit axe (having the blades on both sides of the axe) instead of single-bit.
For the full lyrics, see Void Termina.
*After her reveal in the January 11th Nintendo Direct, Francisca became the avatar used on Kirby's official JP Twitter feed to present updates for Star Allies content and news, similar to Susie for Planet Robobot and the spin-offs therein. She would eventually share this role with the other two Mage-Sisters after they had been introduced.

This article is about Francisca on her own. For all three sisters, see The Three Mage-Sisters.
But I do not wish to waste my time with pointless chatter. So I won't! Just know that should you attempt to oppose us... I'll have no choice but to put you on ice...FOREVER!
— Francisca in Kirby Star Allies

Francisca is a boss who made her debut in Kirby Star Allies. She is described as the Frozen General of The Three Mage-Sisters (the other two being Flamberge and Zan Partizanne), and serves Hyness, the main antagonist of the game.

Kirby Star Allies[edit]

Francisca made her debut along with her mage-sisters in Kirby Star Allies. She appears as a boss at the end of Longview Corridor and Blizzno Moon, as well as in Guest Star ???? Star Allies Go! and The Ultimate Choice.

Attacks[edit]

Francisca catching one of Kirby's allies using her "Frozen Gelato" attack in Longview Corridor.
Calm, cool, and collected, Frozen General Francisca is one of three mages at the head of Jambastion's forces. The freezing attacks she unleashes are enough to chill the very hearts of those who oppose her.

The following tables list all of Francisca's attacks as a boss. Attacks in italics are used during the second phase only.

Francisca's attacks during the first battle in Kirby Star Allies
Attack Description
キスカ・ダウン
Cisca Slash
Francisca swings her axe either downward or upward.
キスカ・ストーク
Cisca Dash
Francisca dashes as she thrusts her axe forward.
キスカ・アッパー
Cisca Uppercut
Francisca swings her axe upward before slamming down against the ground again.
フローズンジェラート
Frozen Gelato
Francisca enlarges her axe's head and throws it, while homing on a certain target.
If an ally is hit by the axe, they will get stuck on it and take continuous damage until the spinning stops.
This attack can be stopped by fire-based attacks (Fire itself and Sizzle-augment abilities).
氷菓ひょうか
Deadly Ice Candies
Francisca tosses ice shards for 3 rounds: three shards in both the first round and the second round, and four shards in the final round.
The ice shards freeze the ground leaving Dropped Stars on impact, and can be turned into food when hit by fire-based attacks before landing.
The ice hazards on impact can be melted by fire-based attacks.
 • 氷菓ひょうか (Ice Candies)[1] is a kind of Japanese frozen dessert as well as wagashi (Japanese traditional confections).
シェイキングソーダ
Shaken Soda Blaster
Francisca conjures a soda gun, shakes it, and fires water shots that ricochet off the ground and the ceiling, leaving stars on impact.
She will fire 3 rounds: horizontally (slightly altering the angle mid-fire) in the first round, diagonally upward in the second round, and diagonally downward in the final round.
 • Water shots can be frozen by ice-based attacks (Ice itself and Blizzard-augment abilities) or blocked by Parasol and Chumbrella.
 • If electric-based attacks (Beam, ESP, Plasma, and Zap-augment abilities) hit the water shots, it will electrocute Francisca, leaving her stunned and vulnerable to attacks from Kirby and his allies.
Attack names are taken from the Japanese guide book and the English version of the Dream Friend moveset.

Francisca will often use the Elegant Escape move to position herself in a certain part of the stage for an upcoming attack.

In her first phase, Francisca attacks in a fixed order on loop as follows:

 2. Cisca Slash x4
 3. Cisca Dash
 4. Cisca Uppercut
 5. Frozen Gelato
 6. Cisca Dash
 7. Cisca Slash

 10. Cisca Dash
 11. Cisca Uppercut

 10. Cisca Uppercut

After that, she attacks in a mostly random order although she will always alternate between her Deadly Ice Candies and Shaken Soda Blaster attacks. In-between those moves, she will do any of the following any number of times at random:

 • Cisca Slash
 • Cisca Dash
 • Cisca Uppercut
Francisca using her "Shaken Soda Slider" attack to cover much of the screen in Blizzno Moon.
Undeterred from her quest to find the dark hearts that have rained down across the galaxy, the Frozen General is back and tougher than ever before! Her duties have kept her away from Flamberge lately… She kind of misses her.

When she is fought again on Blizzno Moon, Francisca's attacks are more elaborate, but still fundamentally the same.

シェイキング・ソーダ・スライダー
Shaken Soda Slider
Francisca fires two rounds of water shots instead: diagonally upward in the first round and diagonally downward in the second round, both in different positions.

As an ally[edit]

Bonjam. Can it be? Frosty Francisca from Kirby Star Allies is your new ally?! Indeed, this cool character is known for swiftly encasing her enemies in ice and keeping them as trophies. Looks like her collection is about to get even bigger...

"If you resist, I will freeze you into ice."
The cold-blooded blue priestess from Kirby Star Allies pays a surprise visit! Along with her sisters, she seeks paradise. But will standing too close to Flamberge throw water on her dreams?

— Pause text in Guest Star ???? Star Allies Go!

In Version 4.0.0. of the game, Francisca was added alongside her sisters Zan Partizanne and Flamberge as playable Dream Friends, unlockable after completing Heroes in Another Dimension with at least 100 Friend Hearts. The three can swap out for each-other at almost any time. Francisca has access to most of her moves as a boss, and also can hover above the ground.

Super Kirby Clash[edit]

In Super Kirby Clash, Francisca appears in the Port Village alongside Flamberge after Team Kirby clears the Tougher: Parallel Nightmare Story Quest. The two of them can be seen chatting on the curb near the right end of the village.

Francisca also appears as a purchasable sticker. Her sticker comes with the caption "...Bonjam."

Kirby Fighters 2[edit]

In Kirby Fighters 2, Francisca appears alongside her sisters on the Jambastion Entrance Battle Stage, where they act as stage hazards. Neither Francisca or her sisters can be attacked by the fighters, and they use some of their boss attacks from Kirby Star Allies to break up the action.

In addition, a costume for Beam Kirby can be unlocked which resembles Francisca, available if the player has save data for Kirby Star Allies on their Nintendo Switch.

Kirby's Dream Buffet[edit]

In Kirby's Dream Buffet, Francisca is represented by a costume and color for Kirby to use. She also appears as a Character Treat, depicting her artwork from Kirby Star Allies.

Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe[edit]

In Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe, a Dress-Up Mask of Francisca is available to wear upon completing card #13 of the Stamp Rally. By completing 90 missions in Merry Magoland, a statue featuring the Three Mage-Sisters will appear in the park, in addition to unlocking a mask based on Retaliator Francisca from Heroes in Another Dimension.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[edit]

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Francisca appears as a Spirit alongside Flamberge and Zan Partizanne. More information can be found on The Three Mage-Sisters page.

Music[edit]

Main article: Song of Supplication

Francisca's battle theme, shared by Flamberge, is titled "Song of Supplication" in English.

The song title and three verses of the lyrics are shown on the pause menu screens from Francisca, Flamberge, and Zan Partizanne during their battles in The Ultimate Choice.

Trivia[edit]

 • Francisca's English name is directly taken from the name of a particular type of axe, fitting due to her choice of weapon. However, the type of axe she uses matches the description of a labrys better, due to being a double-bit axe (having the blades on both sides of the axe) instead of single-bit.
 • After her reveal in the January 11th Nintendo Direct, Francisca became the avatar used on Kirby's official JP Twitter feed to present updates for Star Allies content and news, similar to Susie for Planet Robobot and the spin-offs therein. She would eventually share this role with the other two Mage-Sisters after they had been introduced.
