Fossil Reef is the last stage (second extra stage) of Water Land in Kirby's Epic Yarn and Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn, unlocked by clearing Boom Boatyard and obtaining the Wrench Patch. This stage is an extended Dolphin Metamortex section involving jumping between floating bubbles of water.

Patch animation

Upon throwing the patch, a wrench, screwdriver, and hammer appear to fix up a busted yellow submarine. Once fixed, the submarine activates and floats up and over the door briefly, stirring shells in the process. After some coral anemones grow, the submarine moves off screen and the door opens.

Overview

This stage takes place across four main chambers, each with a somewhat shallow pool at the bottom and several floating water bubbles above. Kirby can use the Dolphin Metamortex to travel quickly between these bodies of water, several of which are floating around, while also avoiding or defeating the water-bound enemies. The Bonus Bell can be found at the end of the fourth chamber past the Reel Gate.
