"Forest Stage" is a music track debuting in Kirby's Adventure, mostly playing in various forest themed stages. It has also appeared in various other games since.
Game appearances[edit]
Kirby's Adventure / Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land[edit]
The theme debuts in Kirby's Adventure, and naturally returns in its remake, Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land. Unlike most other stage themes, "Forest Stage" is not associated with any particular level, a trait shared with "Underground Stage". Also, while it does primarily play in forest stages as its name implies, it also plays in some underground and dark stages.
It can be found as track 17 in Kirby's Adventure's Sound Test. A version with no intro can be found in track 18.
Kirby Air Ride[edit]
A remix of the track can be unlocked by completing the Air Ride checklist objective "CELESTIAL VALLEY: Over one race, ride on both the left and right bridge railings!". It is the alternate track for Celestial Valley. It can be found as track 13 in the game's Sound Test, and is arranged by the original composer, Hirokazu Ando[1].
Kirby & The Amazing Mirror[edit]
The main theme of Cabbage Cavern is a slow-paced remix of the theme with a swung rhythm. It is named 洞窟・岩場エリア (Cave/Rocky Area) in the Kirby & The Amazing Mirror Sound Plus album, and can be found as track 7 in the game's Sound Player.
Kirby: Canvas Curse[edit]
A fast-paced remix of this theme plays in Canvas Canyon. It is found in the Sound Test as track 17.
When the "Old School" sound mode is selected, the Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land arrangement plays in Ghost Grounds and Dreamy Darkness.
Kirby: Squeak Squad[edit]
An arrangement of "Cave/Rocky Area" plays in Stage 1, Stage 2 and Secret Stage of Nature Notch, Stage 1 of Jam Jungle, and Stage 4 of Vocal Volcano. It is named ステージ:洞窟 (Stage: Cave) on Nintendo Mobile, an official Nintendo ringtone service, and can be found as track 26 in the game's Sound Player.
Super Smash Bros. series[edit]
In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, the remix from Kirby Air Ride is one of the default tracks of the Dream Land (64) stage.
The track also returns in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate now an unlockable track, and can be played on any Kirby stage, Battlefield, Big Battlefield, Small Battlefield and Final Destination, like all other Kirby tracks.
Kirby and the Rainbow Curse[edit]
A new remix of the theme can be found in Woodland Battle, to later be played in the game's Music Room, track number 20. This version is for most part faithful to the original, but it features some unique elements, such a new short outro.
Kirby: Planet Robobot[edit]
The remix from Kirby Air Ride plays in Gigabyte Grounds - Stage 7 EX. It can be found as track 122 in the game's Jukebox.
Other appearances[edit]
The original version of the track was included in the Kirby's Adventure soundtrack, while the Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land version was included in The Very Best of Kirby: 52 Hit Tracks, the "Cave/Rocky Area" arrangement in the Kirby & The Amazing Mirror Sound Plus album, and the "Canvas Canyon" version in the Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition Compilation Soundtrack.
The theme also received a vocal arrangement in the Kirby's Adventure album named カービィ・メドレー (Kirby Medley).
The "Electro Kirby" Bonus Track from the Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition Compilation Soundtrack features a short remix of the tune at part 2:15–2:23.
Track 2 of The Sound of Kirby Café 2, 踊る森の実りたち (Fruits of the Dancing Forest), is a jazzy swing medley of various forest themes of the series, and Forest Stage is the first theme present in it. This medley was arranged by Yuuta Ogasawara.
