This article is about the Copy Ability Fire, and should not be confused with the Burning ability, a similar fire ability that was once called Fireball.
Fire!! Hot! So hot! Too hot to touch!
— Fire pause caption from Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land and Kirby & The Amazing Mirror

Fire is a Copy Ability obtained by absorbing a fire type enemy or object, and it allows Kirby to exhale a powerful breath of fire. Kirby uses this ability while standing still, as opposed to the similar Burning ability, which is more based on moving than standing still. This is one of Kirby's oldest Copy Abilities, making its debut in Kirby's Adventure. When possessing the Fire ability, Kirby sports a golden tiara with a green jewel embedded in it. Bright orange flames emerge from the headgear, and Kirby's Template:Colour slightly changes, making him more red than pink.

Kirby's Adventure/Nightmare in Dream Land

Kirby can breathe fire! Enemies beware, or you're gonna get burned!
— Pause description from Kirby's Adventure
KA Fire icon.png

Fire first appears in Kirby's Adventure, the game which introduced Kirby's Copy Abilities, and also appears in its remake, Nightmare in Dream Land. Absorbing a Hot Head allows Kirby to breathe fire at his enemies.

Kirby Super Star/Kirby Super Star Ultra

Use Dash and Y to hurl burning fireballs. You can light fuses, candles, or even yourself to become a mega-powerful weapon.
— Pause description from Kirby Super Star

In Kirby Super Star and the game's remake, Kirby Super Star Ultra, Kirby can obtain the fire ability through Copy Pedestals, Copy Essence Deluxes or inhaling fiery enemies, notably Burning Leo. With the fire ability equipped, Kirby can create a Burning Leo as a Helper. These games did not feature the Fire ability's counterpart Burning, but instead included moves associated with Burning into the Fire ability. Therefore, Kirby is not only able to breathe fire at enemies, but to engulf himself in flames and charge forward as well.

Kirby Air Ride

Fire is one of the Copy Abilities which racing Kirbys can use in this spin-off title. When acquired, Kirby is able to spit fire balls which land on the course and remain as conflagrations which can trip up racers who ride over them for a short time. Like other abilities in this game, Fire only lasts for a short while before disappearing.

Kirby & The Amazing Mirror

Fire appears along with Burning once again, unchanged from its appearance in Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land. It is once again mainly provided by Hot Head.

Kirby: Squeak Squad

Fire makes a return in this title, this time without Burning accompanying it. As such, it is provided by Hot Head, Acchi, and Flamer (who previously provided Burning). Collecting the Ability Scroll for Fire allows Kirby to angle his fire breath up and down while using it.

Kirby's Return to Dream Land

Fire reappears as an ability in Kirby's Return to Dream Land, where it is obtained by inhaling fiery enemies such as Hot Heads, Flamers, and Galbos. It can also be obtained from rocks launched by the volcanoes in Dangerous Dinner. The Fire ability is required for some fuses to be lit to launch Kirby from a cannon to secret areas of the stage, which may provide an Energy Sphere. A super version of the Fire ability, called Monster Flame also exists, and can be obtained by inhaling a Super Hot Head.

Kirby: Planet Robobot

This flaming ability allows Kirby to spit out fire! Light the fuse and ignite yourself to produce an even more powerful flame.
— Kirby: Planet Robobot pause caption

Fire returns in this game, functioning identically to the way it did in Kirby: Triple Deluxe. It is provided by Hot Head, Galbo, Flamer, and other enemies. When combined with the [[Robobot Armor|Robobot ArmTemplate:Or]], it results in a powerful Fire Mode which can shoot massive flamethrowers and leave conflagrations on the ground.

Kirby Star Allies

Its flame techniques burn bright! Light fuses, your friends' weapons, or whatever you want with this searing fire. When these flames get in the middle of friends, all sorts of fiery devastation is possible!
— Kirby Star Allies pause caption

Fire returns as an ability in this installment, provided by Burning Leo, who also represents the ability as a Friend. Fire provides the Sizzle enhancement to various Copy Abilities, and can also be used in conjunction with Cleaning or Wing to perform Rising Sizzler.

Kirby when he inhales an enemy who uses fire. Shooting fire from his mouth, Fire Kirby can cook enemies from afar. This ability also allows Kirby to light explosive blocks, fuses, and so on. In Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land and Kirby & The Amazing Mirror, Fire Kirby can roll his burning body into enemies as an attack move.

*= This game states that Fire Kirby made a recent appearance in Template:KCC KPP. This is incorrect because, at that time, Template:KSS KMA was the recent game that appeared before Brawl.

When Kirby first copied the Fire ability he was only able to breathe fire. Nowadays, he can do all sorts of neat things! For example, he can engulf himself in flames and roll forward, burning grass, lighting fuses, melting ice, and so on. What we'd really like him to do, though, is help us make the perfect s'more. Mmmmm. Once upon a time, all Fire Kirby could do was shoot flames from his mouth, but he's come a long way since then. Now he can roll along the ground as a blazing fireball, burn up grass, light fuses, melt ice and so on. That's great and all, but what we really want to know is...can he help us get a barbecue going?

In Kirby: Right Back at Ya!

Fire is the first ability to be showcased in the anime series Kirby: Right Back at Ya!. Kirby first obtains this ability by swallowing Octacon's burning children in the episode Kirby Comes to Cappy Town. In the anime, Fire Kirby is able to spew massive gouts of flame, and can also inhale and return the fire of other creatures.
