Dream Land (Pupupu Land in Japan) is a kingdom on Planet Popstar in which Kirby lives. It has been targeted by several wrongdoers, which Kirby and others help stop. The kingdom gets its name from the peaceful sleep its residents receive, due to its Fountain of Dreams which spreads restful dreams across the land.
General description
Dream Land can be described as a particular region of Planet Popstar over which King Dedede claims sovereignty. However, it is not known exactly where the kingdom ends and the rest of Popstar begins. Despite this, it is generally understood that the topography of Dream Land consists mainly of lush meadows, forests and old castles. Kirby's House occupies one of the meadows, while Whispy Woods resides in the forest, and King Dedede makes his home in his castle atop Mt. Dedede. In addition, many cloudscapes persist above Dream Land, where Kracko and Kabula can sometimes be found. The Fountain of Dreams is located inside an area of Dream Land called Rainbow Resort.
Meta Knight and his Meta-Knights are also commonly seen in Dream Land, though it is not entirely clear if their base of operations - the Halberd - is docked there or not.
Lastly, Dream Land is home to countless numbers of Waddle Dees, Waddle Doos, and others who have varying degrees of loyalty to King Dedede.
Appearances
Kirby's Dream Land
The first game of the series takes place entirely in Dream Land. Kirby ventures through Green Greens, Castle Lololo, Float Islands, Bubbly Clouds and finally Mount Dedede in order to defeat the gluttonous king and recover the stolen food and stars to Dream Land's denizens.
Kirby's Adventure/Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land
In Kirby's Adventure and its remake, Nightmare in Dream Land, the residents of Dream Land start to have nightmares because King Dedede steals the Star Rod that lets them sleep peacefully. He then divides it into 7 parts. Kirby eventually puts the Star Rod back together, but discovers that King Dedede actually stole the Star Rod to keep it from a villain named Nightmare. Kirby defeats Nightmare and allows Dream Land to have a peaceful sleep once more.
Kirby's Dream Land 2
Despite the title, it is not understood if the Rainbow Islands - upon which this game is set - are actually a part of Dream Land or not. The English manual states that they area, but these islands are never seen again in the series outside of a brief appearance in the background of Slam Hockey.
Kirby Super Star (Ultra)
Most of the sections of this installment (and it's remake) take place in Dream Land, including Spring Breeze, Dyna Blade, Revenge of Meta Knight, and Revenge of the King. It is not understood if The Great Cave Offensive takes place in Dream Land proper, or a different part of Pop Star.
Kirby's Dream Land 3
Like with Dream Land 2, it is not clear whether any of the areas Kirby visits in this adventure are in Dream Land or not.
Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards
At least some of the stages that take place on Pop Star are located in Dream Land.
Kirby: Squeak Squad
The first level - Prism Plains - takes place in Dream Land.

In Kirby's (Extra) Epic Yarn, Yin-Yarn turns Dream Land and its citizens into yarn. Dream Land is the last level to be unlocked, accessible once Meta Knight (Epic Yarn) is beaten in Space Land and Patch Land is fully restored. Once this level is available, Kirby can travel between Dream Land and Patch Land by means of the Magic Sock. The levels of Dream Land are very reminiscent of the original Kirby games, as many of them are remakes, only in yarn form. For example, Whispy's Forest replaces Green Greens, and Tempest Towers replaces Butter Building. The theme music in these levels are also covers of classic Kirby songs. These include the Gourmet Race music, the Ice Cream Island music, and the Halberd music.

Kirby's Return to Dream Land
Magolor's ship - the Lor Starcutter - crashes into Dream Land at the start of this title, prompting Kirby and his friends to help recover the lost pieces. This adventure will take them through several wide areas, though many of these may be outside of Dream Land's jurisdiction.
Kirby: Triple Deluxe
The opening cut-scene takes place in Dream Land, though the rest of the game takes place in an entirely different kingdom by the name of Floralia.
Kirby and the Rainbow Curse
The opening cut-scene takes place in Dream Land, though the rest of the game takes place in an entirely different world by the name of Seventopia.
Kirby: Planet Robobot
In this title, Dream Land (along with the rest of Popstar) is consumed by the 'Mechanizing Occupation Project' overseen by the Haltmann Works Company. In the process, King Dedede's castle is reduced to rubble. It's up to Kirby to ward off the business-minded alien invaders and restore Dream Land to its former condition.
Kirby Battle Royale
In this title, King Dedede sets up a giant tournament in Dream Land with a huge cake as the prize. The rest of the story mode revolves around Kirby and Bandana Waddle Dee competing for this cake against an unfair host.

“ | A disaster of catastrophic proportions has occurred in this peaceful land. King Dedede has stolen all of the food for himself! The nerve of that guy! Now Kirby must set out on a grand adventure with a new group of friends. | ” | — Level description in Kirby Star Allies |
World of Peace - Dream Land is the first level in Kirby Star Allies. As the name implies, all the stages in this level take place within Dream Land proper. Kirby can access up to six stages in this level, as well as a Dream Palace. Along the way, Kirby will need to fight Whispy Woods and King Dedede. Once the latter is beaten, Kirby can move on to Planet Popstar.
On occasion, Dyna Blade can be found flying over Castle Dedede on the map.

In Kirby: Right Back at Ya!
In the anime series, Dream Land (known as Pupupu Land in Japan) is the kingdom which King Dedede rules over. It has only one major settlement, called Cappy Town, where most of the king's subjects live. Kirby crashes into Dream Land from out in space, and is made a permanent resident when the people of Cappy Town build him a house.
While it is established that Cappy Town pays taxes into King Dedede's treasury, the town itself does not see him as a king and protector, so much as a nuisance. Instead, the town seeks guidance from an ancient stone statue called Kabu, found in a rocky valley out on the outskirts of the kingdom.
Trivia
- Despite King Dedede's many attempts to enforce his power over Dream Land and Meta Knight's one-time attempt to establish his own order over the area, it is generally understood and accepted that Kirby is the only true protector of Dream Land.
