His sister, Hikari, on the other hand, worries that her brother may get hurt because of his bravery. She rather worried about his welfare to the point of appointing Kirby to save him in Kirby's Dream Land 3.

In their original game, Donbe & Hikari are protective of their world.

Physical Appearance

Donbe is rather short. His outfit consists of a turquoise robe and his bluish-green hair covers his eyes. Hikari dwarfs him. Her outfit consists of a white robe and red skirt. She has black hair held up in a ponytail.

History

Kirby's Dream Land 3

Donbe and his sister make their only appearance in the Kirby series in Kirby's Dream Land 3. The two of them get separated, and Hikari wants Kirby to return her brother to her side. Donbe & Hikari retain their 8-bit sprites from their classic game, like Goku & Chao do.

How to save Donbe

To save Donbe, Kirby must take the bottom, top, then middle path in the third room of the fourth stage of Sand Canyon. Kirby then must destroy the Haboki. After she is defeated, she relinquishes the door that leads to where Donbe is being held. Kirby will then receive his Heart Star prize once Donbe returns to his sister's side.

Cameos

Donbe, two supporting characters, and music from his game make a cameo in Yūyūki, the second installment of the Famicom Mukashibanashi series, during chapter 8. In Super Smash Bros. Melee, Donbe & Hikari appear as a trophy, where their game was originally spelled "Shin Oni Ga Shima". In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Donbe appears solo as a sticker, and upon collection, his game title is unlocked under the Chronicle's Disk System section in the Japanese version. In Captain Rainbow, an older Hikari appears as the protagonist's love interest. In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Donbe & Hikari appear as a spirit that depicts their Zenpen artwork for Shin Onigashima. The spirit can be enhanced into their Kouhen artwork, in which they appear older.
