Deep Sleep is an Evolved Copy Ability based on Sleep that appears in Kirby and the Forgotten Land. Unlike the standard variant, when Kirby acquires this ability, he is not automatically put to sleep: instead he is free to move around as usual, just with lazy half-open eyes. Kirby's hat also becomes a pillow-like hat resembling a crescent moon on a cloud. Kirby can use this ability at anytime and anywhere by pressing the Attack button, and by doing so he conjures a bed on the spot and takes a brief nap on it (he can even make his bed on unconventional terrain like water surface, lava and toxic goop without taking damage), which fully heals him (33.4% health times 3), as well as giving him one random boost to his attack, speed, or health, similar to the power-up items sold at Waddle Dee's Item Shop. Like the standard variant, Deep Sleep cannot be Powered Up at Waddle Dee's Weapons Shop.
Effect details
The chances of receiving one random boost are as follows:
- Life Up: 20%
- Attack Boost: 40%
- Speed Boost: 40%
The effect time of Attack/Speed Boost from Deep Sleep cannot exceed 200 seconds. If the effect time is 200 or higher, Attack/Speed Boost from Deep Sleep will not stack.
Moving the Control Stick and mashing buttons will cause the bed to shake, but only Control Stick movements will cause Kirby to wake up faster.[1]
When Kirby either goes to bed or jumps out of the bed after waking up, he does minor damage to any enemy on contact.
If Kirby takes damage and loses the Deep Sleep ability, its hat will despawn immediately.

Trivia
- After unlocking Deep Sleep, Kirby can use it freely at Waddle Dee's Weapons Shop however many times he wants, serving as a constant free source of attack, speed, and health boosts.
- Sleep is unavailable from the random Copy Essences during The Ultimate Cup Z in the Colosseum, possibly to prevent infinite health recovery from Sleep and infinite boosts from Deep Sleep.
- Deep Sleep is the only Evolved Copy Ability in the game not to have a Treasure Road stage.
