"Deep Sea Area"[Japanese title] is a stage theme from Kirby & The Amazing Mirror heard in most areas of Olive Ocean.

Composition[edit]

Sword Kirby in the deep sea.

"Deep Sea Area" is an uplifting piece in melodic E-flat major and 4/4. It begins with a rapid percussive introduction before introducing a melody unlike any other in the game or aquatic areas of the series. It starts with rapid ascensions and somewhat more subtle descending passages, each phrase ending at a lower point and often accenting a C-flat. At its peak, the melody briefly modulates to harmonic G-flat major. A percussive interlude separates this bright first section from the second, characterized by lower registers, a chromatic bass, and fourths and fifths associated with boss music from its game. Soon afterwards the track loops.

Game appearances[edit]

In its game of origin, "Deep Sea Area" plays in most areas within Olive Ocean and adjacent rooms. In addition, its melody also makes up the middle section of "Last Boss / Second Form".

Kirby Star Allies[edit]

In Kirby Star Allies, "Deep Sea Area" is a part of the medley heard when viewing the Shadowy Partners Celebration Picture, in addition to remaining as a part of "Last Boss / Second Form" in the "Dark Mirage" medley.
