Crack-Tweet is an enemy which appears in very early Kirby games, first appearing in Kirby's Pinball Land. It resembles a small, yellow chick not unlike Twizzy, which possesses a red beak and feet, as well as three strands of hair on its head. It is initially found in a white egg with a horizontal crack running through it. When hatched, Crack-Tweet can also be distinguished from Twizzy in that Crack-Tweet has a proportionally smaller head and more frizzy appearance.

While inside the egg, Crack-Tweet does nothing but make small hops. If it falls a certain distance or Kirby attacks it in this state, the egg breaks, causing the chick to hatch from it. The shell may also be removed by inhaling it. Outside of it, the bird is able to make small jumps, as well as flap its wings to slow down its fall and attempt to fly over obstacles it runs into. Exposed, a Crack-Tweet can be defeated instantly by any attack.

Game appearances

Kirby's Pinball Land

In Kirby's Pinball Land, three Crack-Tweets (known here as simply Chick[1]) appear at the top of the Poppy Brothers' Land stage. They start out inside their eggs, and each hit they receive from Kirby causes the egg to crack, then be removed. If a Junior Poppy Brothers gets to the egg however, they will kick it and reset it. Once Crack-Tweet is free from its egg, it will exit through a doorway. Once all three have done so, they will re-appear carrying items. One of these is the Warp Star that will take Kirby to the boss board.

Kirby's Dream Land 2

Crack-Tweet appears as a common enemy in this game, showing up mainly in Grass Land. Crack-Tweet's egg is worth 200 points if destroyed by Kirby and 100 if he inhales it. Additionally, the chick itself is worth 300 points when attacked and 150 when inhaled. Neither grants Kirby a Copy Ability when swallowed.

Kirby's Block Ball

In this title, Crack-Tweet appears as a common enemy, and is worth 600 points when defeated. Here, it appears without its egg. It drops a food item on defeat.

Kirby's Toy Box

Crack-Tweet is an orbit target in Kirby's Toy Box - Pinball. If Kirby, who acts as the pinball, passes through its egg shell four times, it fully hatches and awards the player with 1000 points. In that case, it flies off the screen and respawns at the same spot.
