Course 1 is the first course in the single-player mode of Kirby's Dream Course. This course serves to introduce the player to the basics of gameplay, and also introduces the Hi-Jump and Parasol Copy Abilities.

Cut-scene

A still from the opening cut-scene for Course 1.

In the intro cut-scene, Kirby bounces in to defeat Waddle Dee and then Starman, then uses the Hi-Jump ability to leap over Kabu and defeat Parasol Waddle Doo before bouncing off of Whispy Woods. Kabu transforms into the cup, and Kirby tries to use the Parasol ability to float into it, but just barely misses, which results in him becoming visibly upset.

Holes

There are eight holes in Course 1, as follows:

Hole Description Notes
A simple and small flat hole with no hazards.
A small hole with some uneven terrain. First appearance of the Kick Panel.
A hole featuring a small hill. First appearance of the Hi-Jump ability in this game.
A flat hole separated by Danger Zones. First appearance of Danger Zones and Warp Panels.
A hilly hole involving a jump.
A hole featuring a walkway high above a lower portion. First appearance of the Parasol ability in this game.
A long hole featuring a wall and a pond. First appearance of Ponds.
A hole featuring a drainable pond, slopes and two areas quartered off by elevation differences. First appearance of a pond switch.

Trivia

  • As demonstrated in this tool-assisted playthrough, it is possible to get a hole-in-one on every hole in this course in both the main game and Extra Game, thus achieving a perfect score of 8 on both course variants.
