Cookie Country - Stage 2 (simply called Stage 2 or 1-2 in-game) is the second stage of Cookie Country in Kirby's Return to Dream Land and its remake Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe. There are three Energy Spheres in this stage. This stage introduces the Leaf Copy Ability for the first time, as well as Gigant Edge as a Mid-Boss.

OverviewEdit

Kirby battles the Mid-Boss Gigant Edge while it faces the wrong way.

The stage starts out with an open grassy area with a ladder leading up to a large wooden bridge, with a few Leafans along the way. From there, Kirby has to cross the bridge decked by several types of enemies before reaching a Warp Star that will take him flying through some very nice scenery into the woods.

The Warp Star lands Kirby atop a new wooden structure in the midst of a dense forest. To the left are some Point Stars, and to the right, Kirby will find a Cutter Copy Essence past a bottomless pit. From there stretches a relatively straight path with several Comos, along with other enemies such as Bouncy and Sir Kibble, followed by a series of platforms suspended on ropes which can be cut with the right abilities.

The next area is an interior path leading downwards, where Kirby can find a Crackler to blast aside various enemies, and eventually break some metal blocks which cover a switch that will raise a bridge over a bottomless pit, allowing Kirby to continue with the Crackler to uncover a cache of supplies on the other side.

The next door leads to the hollowed interior of a large tree trunk. A Needle Copy Essence can be found on the first platform from the bottom of the trunk. Kirby must traverse up the trunk filled with Waddle Dees and Cappies, with the occasional gap to the side, one with food, and another with a Maxim Tomato. As Kirby moves higher up the tower, a Waddle Doo and more Comos can be found until the door is seen at the top.

  • There is a hidden door in this area that leads to a side room set with an Onion Ocean-style coastline in the background. In here are a couple of Comos and an Invincible Candy.

The door leads to an open section of the wooden structure. Below, a choice can be made between a Fire and Beam Copy Essence. To the right, the Mid-Boss Gigant Edge appears to ambush Kirby. Defeating and swallowing this opponent will yield the Sword ability. Past an alcove with additional food items lies the Goal Door.

Energy Sphere GuideEdit

  • Near the end of the Crackler section, a hidden cache in the ceiling can be accessed using the item in question to obtain the first sphere.
  • At the top of the tree trunk section, the second sphere can be found hiding in the canopy to the right.
  • After defeating Gigant Edge, Kirby can obtain the last sphere by cutting a rope through a wall using the Sword ability or similar.
