Coo's Theme
| ||||||||||||||
|
Coo's Theme is the musical piece associated with Coo which plays whenever Kirby is riding on him through normal stages in Kirby's Dream Land 2. It was composed by Hirokazu Ando and Tadashi Ikegami.
Composition
Coo's Theme is characterized by fast percussion paired with a steady main melody containing several long-held notes. The song can be said to bear a more "serious" tone than either Rick's Theme or Kine's Theme. The song itself is fairly quick, and runs in a 4/4 time signature with two main verses of equal length and an introductory non-looping verse which is half the length of one of the main verses.
Game appearances
Kirby's Dream Land 2
Coo's Theme first appeared in Kirby's Dream Land 2, along with the character it is named for. The song plays whenever Kirby is paired with Coo while in a standard stage, and overrides the stage's main theme. The song does not play in boss stages, Bonus Chances, or Level Hubs.
Kirby: Triple Deluxe / Kirby Fighters Deluxe
Coo's Theme is heard in the Coo's Forest stage in the Kirby: Triple Deluxe Sub-Game Kirby Fighters and the expanded spin-off Kirby Fighters Deluxe. It is paired with Rick's Theme and Kine's Theme here.
Other appearances
Coo's Theme can be heard at the end of the track "Kirby's Dream Land 2 Allies Medley" from the Kirby 25th Anniversary Orchestra Concert. It is once again paired with Rick's Theme and Kine's Theme. Notably, this version of the song is emphasized by its loudness, and has a new ending verse to cap off the track.
