This article is about the musical theme for Cloudy Park in Kirby's Dream Land 2. For the level itself, see Cloudy Park.

Cloudy Park is the stage theme of Level 6: Cloudy Park in Kirby's Dream Land 2.

Description

The Cloudy Park theme is a gentle tune with a bouncy, uplifting beat. It notably features a lead instrument that sounds reminiscent of a clarinet or violin.

Game appearances

Kirby's Dream Land 2

The original version first appears with the level cutscene movie when Kirby enters Cloudy Park for the first time. In this game, the tune is in 3/4 time, as is standard for cloud levels in the Kirby series.

It also plays in any Cloudy Park stage as long as Kirby is without an Animal Friend. Otherwise, the respective theme of the Animal Friend plays.

The Cloudy Park theme can be found as BGM 37 (with intro) and 38 (without intro) in Dream Land 2's Sound Test.

Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition

In the Kirby's History mode of Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition, an orchestral medley of Castle Lololo and Cloudy Park plays. It's arranged by Hirokazu Ando. This version is also in 3/4, transitioning from the 4/4 of Castle Lololo.

Kirby: Triple Deluxe

The medley from Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition is reused as the Game Over screen theme. It can be found as Track 041 in Triple Deluxe's Jukebox.

Kirby Fighters Deluxe

The Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition medley is reused for the regular staff credits accessed from the game's Options menu.

Kirby: Planet Robobot

The Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition medley is reused for the results screen after clearing a Quest in Team Kirby Clash. It can be found as Track 77 in the game's Jukebox.

Kirby Star Allies

Original version from Kirby's Dream Land 2

In Kirby Star Allies, the original version from Kirby's Dream Land 2 is reused in the stage Duplex Dream.

The original version can be found as Track 79 in the Star Allies Jukebox.

Remix

During Morpho Knight's boss battle in Guest Star ???? Star Allies Go! and Soul Melter (EX) of The Ultimate Choice, if 1P is Rick & Kine & Coo, Morpho Knight's theme will be replaced by a new orchestral medley of Real Dark Matter and Cloudy Park from Kirby's Dream Land 2. The track title on Kirby Star Allies: The Original Soundtrack is ダーククラウディ (Dark Cloudy). This version is transposed to 4/4 to match the beat of Real Dark Matter.

This medley is also arranged by Hirokazu Ando. It can be found as Track 175 in the Star Allies Jukebox as of Version 4.0.0.

Other Appearances

  • On The Sound of Kirby Café, a soundtrack CD of various Kirby arrangements released exclusively at Kirby Café locations, Track #04, ふわふわのらくえんで (In a Fluffy Paradise), is a medley of Cloudy Park and Ripple Field. It has a bossa nova-style arrangement in 4/4 time, with melodica as its lead instrument. It's arranged by Megumi Ohara.
