The Checklist, called the Awards List in the British English version of Kirby Mass Attack, is a board of objectives that can be completed in various Kirby titles, comparable to achievements in other game series. These objectives are called Tasks and Awards in the American and British English version of Kirby Mass Attack, respectively. The first Kirby game to feature a checklist was Kirby Air Ride, and completing these lists is necessary for 100% completion of the game. They serve as a likely inspiration to the Challenges in the Super Smash Bros. series.

Checklists by Game

Kirby Air Ride

Screencap of a partially filled-in Checklist for City Trial.

There are three distinct Checklists in Kirby Air Ride - one for each game mode. Each list consists of 120 boxes, each with their own objective to satisfy. At first, the objectives will be unknown to the player, but playing the game should be enough to unlock the first few by happenstance. From there, adjacent boxes to those cleared in the list will have their objectives shown. When clearing certain objectives (red boxes after completion), rewards are given, such as Kirby palette swaps, new Air Ride Machines, Sound Test music tracks, and other rewards.

One reward in particular is a purple Checklist filler, which the player can use to automatically complete an objective they find to be too difficult, or just don't want to bother with. Each list has 5 fillers to obtain, which means the player only has to complete at least 115 objectives of a Checklist.

The following pages link to tables listing each objective, and rewards, if applicable:

Filling in 100 boxes is necessary to 'complete' the game mode, which unlocks its Ending movie. Filling in all 120 for each one is necessary for 100% completion, and all boxes of the completed Checklist will turn gold-colored (except for those checked off by the purple filler).

A Checklist is kept in this title, which is filled in by performing various tasks in the main game. There are 35 tasks in all, separated into five pages. While objectives can be completed at any time, the objectives are not shown to the player until enough Medals are collected to do so. The amount required is as follows:

  • Page 1 - 80 Medals
  • Page 2 - 100 Medals
  • Page 3 - 120 Medals
  • Page 4 - 140 Medals
  • Page 5 - 160 Medals

Completing the checklist is required for 100% completion of the game.

Kirby Battle Royale

Main article: Medal

While not called a Checklist, this title has a medal board which functions basically the same as previous Checklists. Each time a medal is earned, Battle Coins are awarded to the player, which can be used to unlock abilities and characters, battle modes, Headgear, and music files.

Trivia

  • With the exception of a few spaces, the Checklists in Kirby Air Ride have their objectives randomly scattered through the grid every time a new save file is created.
