The Castle Lololo theme is a theme first heard in Kirby's Dream Land that plays in many Kirby games since. It was composed by Jun Ishikawa.

Game appearances

Kirby's Dream Land

This theme first appears in the game, playing in the level of the same name.

Kirby Air Ride

An arrangement of the theme plays during the Dyna Blade event and the Vs. King Dedede Stadium mode in City Trial.

A heavily remixed version of this theme plays in Mag Mount. It is found in the Sound Test as Music 09.

Kirby Super Star Ultra

A remix of the theme, similar to the Kirby Air Ride version, is used for the battles against Dyna Blade, Wham Bam Rock and Wham Bam Jewel. This version is named 巨大ボスとの戦い (Battle with the Enormous Boss) in Kirby Ultra Super Deluxe Original Sound Track.

Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition

In the "Kirby's History" section of the game, an orchestral melody of Castle Lololo and Cloudy Park plays. It is arranged by Hirokazu Ando.

Kirby: Triple Deluxe

In the Kirby Fighters subgame, the original version of this theme from Kirby's Dream Land plays in the Castle Lololo Battle Stage.

The medley from Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition is reused for the Game Over screen.

Kirby Fighters Deluxe

Like on its origin subgame, the original version of the theme plays in the Castle Lololo battle stage. In addition, the Kirby Air Ride version is reused for the new Dyna Blade's Nest stage.

The Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition version is also reused for the first end credits sequence.

Super Smash Bros. series

In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, the original version from Kirby's Dream Land plays in the Castle Lololo section of the Dream Land GB stage.

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the track is incorporated in the "Kirby Retro Medley".

Kirby: Planet Robobot

The Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition medley is reused for the results screen after clearing a Quest in Team Kirby Clash. It can be found as Track 77 in the game's Jukebox.

Team Kirby Clash Deluxe

Castle Lololo is remixed, with some additions to its melody, and plays in the Landia EX battle and in the first phase of King D-Mind's. This version is titled 強大なボスとの決戦 (Decisive Battle With a Mighty Boss) on Kirby Star Allies: The Original Soundtrack.

Kirby's Blowout Blast

A simple arrangement of the theme plays in Level 3 (EX).

The original Team Kirby Clash Deluxe version is reused for the battle against Giant King Dedede. Meanwhile, Castle Lololo is also incorporated in the boss battle theme of Giant Masked Dedede, and its segment is notably very similar to the Team Kirby Clash Deluxe remix.

Kirby Star Allies

A slow and calm arrangement of this theme plays after the Goal Game, when showing the collected Picture Pieces.

The Team Kirby Clash Deluxe version is reused for the battle against Goldon & Silvox in the Soul Melter and Soul Melter EX difficulties of The Ultimate Choice.

Super Kirby Clash

The original Team Kirby Clash Deluxe version is reused for the Tougher Story Quests against Ice Dragon, Kibble Blade, Bonkers, Flame Galboros and Mr. Frosty.

A remix of the Giant Masked Dedede battle theme from Kirby's Blowout Blast plays for the Tougher and Toughest Quests against King D-Mind and, as noted above, the original song features the Castle Lololo theme.

Finally, the remix of the theme in Team Kirby Clash Deluxe is remixed again, and plays in the first phase of King D-Mind's Revenge.

Kirby Fighters 2

The Castle Lololo and Dyna Blade's Nest battle stages return for this game, using the same tracks and their original appearances in Kirby Fighters and Kirby Fighters Deluxe. In addition, one remix for each stage can be unlocked as secret songs, after reaching Fighters Rank 96 and 79, respectively.

Other appearances

In the Japanese version of Kirby: Right Back at Ya!, the same arrangement used in Kirby Air Ride plays in both Fitness Fiend when Dedede starts to get fat after eating the Pufferzene chips, and in Fright to the Finish during the Combat Kirby recap. It is named Destruction! Nightmare's Great Fortress (撃滅!ナイトメア大要塞) after the episode Combat Kirby in Kirby & The Amazing Mirror Sound Plus.

In The Sound of Kirby Café 2, Castle Lololo is featured in Track 4: Tomorrow's Tea Times.

The Battle with the Enormous Boss version from Kirby Super Star Ultra is featured at the very beginning of the bonus track ボスバトルメドレー/エレクトロニックver. (Boss Battle Medley / Electronic Ver.) from the Kirby Ultra Super Deluxe Original Sound Track.

Trivia

  • The "Decisive Battle with a Mighty Boss" variation is listed as originating from Kirby's Blowout Blast on Kirby Star Allies: The Original Soundtrack, despite it appearing in Team Kirby Clash Deluxe first. This may indicate it was originally composed for Blowout Blast, as it fits more with that game's style of music.
