Cappy is a minor enemy that appears in most games in the Kirby series, making its debut appearance in Kirby's Dream Land. It is a small, mushroom-like creature, possessing no appendages, and resumes movement by hopping. However, in certain games, Cappies are equipped with arms.

The Cappy's main method of attack is basically bumping into Kirby, resulting in a loss of energy. If Kirby inhales Cappy, its cap is swallowed by him, revealing its face. Cappy is only defeated by inhaling its cap and spiting it as a Star Bullet at his face.

Cappy has appeared in nearly every Kirby game since, but its form and function has never changed significantly. It remains a relatively insignificant obstacle.

In Extra Mode of Kirby's Dream Land, Cappy is replaced by a similar enemy named Blopper. In the Revenge of the King mode in Kirby Super Star Ultra, the Poison Mash enemy appears, in place of Cappy.

Kirby: Right Back at Ya!

In the anime, most Cappies are allies to Kirby, and live in a village called Cappy Town. Cappies include Mabel, Curio, Chief Bookums and Mayor Len. Strangely, none of the Cappies in this town wear a cap.

Trivia

• If Cappy is moved or defeated while its cap is still in the air, the cap will fall to the ground and then disappear. If the Cappy has not been defeated, it will be unable to produce a new cap at this point.
