Cackling Painting[Japanese title] is an enemy featured in Kirby: Canvas Curse. It is an old, colorless photo frame, and it only appears in the final level, The World of Drawcia. They have the ability to levitate in midair.

Cackling Paintings are large and somewhat unsettling, as their faces will appear and then track Kirby's movements, while they giggle menacingly (presumably mirroring Drawcia's own laughter). They cannot actually harm Kirby, however. They can be defeated by tapping on them with the Nintendo DS stylus. Removing every Cackling Painting from the area they appear in causes a Medal to appear in that area.

Cackling Painting is the only enemy in Kirby: Canvas Curse that isn't listed during the staff credits, and thus not receiving an official English name. It is instead named in Japanese-exclusive encyclopedia 20th Anniversary Kirby Pupupu Encyclopedia.

TriviaEdit

  • One of the possible names for online Kirby CPU in Kirby's Dream Buffet is "CacklnPnt". This is the closest thing the enemy got to an official English name, or any acknowledgment outside of Kirby: Canvas Curse.
