Ah HA!! I have found my next victim!!
— Bronto Burt (Kirby's Avalanche)

Bronto Burt, originally named Bront Burt,[1] is a generally reoccurring enemy that is quite common to the many stages and realms of many Kirby games. Throughout their appearances, their behavior have stayed relatively unchanged. Bronto Burts are often found in sky-theme levels, but they can occur anywhere. They attack generally by colliding into Kirby, although their attack patterns vary. Some fly in a set wavy pattern, others follow Kirby, and others appear by diving and looping before flying in a set pattern.

Bronto Burts can be described as being small and round with two pairs semi-transparent, insect-like wings, tiny orange feet, large eyes with long eyebrows, and an emotionless mouth. In later appearances, they have blush marks similar to how Kirby has them. The Bronto Burts in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards differ slightly from their usual appearances, having one pair of wings, much thicker eyebrows, darker pupils, and no mouths. Bronto Burts also share color variants, as seen in Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land, although they are only aesthetic. These color variants are not as common as the pink variation.

According to its Brawl trophy, it does not serve Dedede, and it divebombs from time to time, hurting Kirby only because he is in the way.

Game Appearances

Kirby's Dream Land

Bronto Burts in Kirby's Dream Land

File:KDLBrontBurt.png Bronto Burts make their first appearance in Kirby's Dream Land. In this game, they are a relatively common airborne enemy. Their attack patterns involve flying in the air, falling and looping, following Kirby, or jumping followed by flying straight. With all enemies in this game, they can be defeated in one hit or by getting inhaled. If they are defeated, they give Kirby 400 points. Twizzy enemies act in a similar manner as Bronto Burts.

Koozers replace Bronto Burts in the Extra Game.

Kirby's Adventure

File:BrontoBurt KA.pngFile:KNiD E BrontoBurt.png Bronto Burts reappear in Kirby's Adventure and its remake. They behave very similarly. Bronto Burts are normal enemies in this game. They are also relatively common.

Kirby's Avalanche

A Bronto Burt appears as Kirby's second rival in Kirby's Avalanche, after Waddle Dee in the main game. Bronto Burt can be fought only in the Easy mode of this game.

Kirby's Block Ball

Bronto Burts have appeared as common enemies in Kirby's Block Ball.

Kirby's Dream Land 2

File:KDL2BrontoBurt.png Bronto Burts make another appearance in Kirby's Dream Land 2. They behave in the same manner. They give Kirby 200 points when they are defeated.

Kirby Super Star/Kirby Super Star Ultra

File:KSSBrontoBurt.pngFile:BrontoburtSSU.png Bronto Burts appear again in Kirby Super Star and its remake as a common airborne enemy. They have low HP compared to most enemies in the game, which makes them easier to defeat. They give Kirby 300 points when they are defeated. They appear in all main game modes. In the remake, Bronto Burts appear as one of the various Kirby enemies in the sub-game Kirby on the Draw. In Kirby Card Swipe Bronto Burts are one of the various Kirby enemies that can appear on the card.

In the remake, Koozers replace Bronto Burts in Revenge of the King mode. They have twice as much HP as a Bronto Burt, but it is still relatively average compared to normal enemies.

Kirby's Dream Land 3

BrontoBurt KDL3.png Bronto Burts reappear as common enemies in Kirby's Dream Land 3.

Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards

Bronto Burts make another appearance in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. In this game, it retains its usual attacks, but it can also charge at Kirby from the background of the stage. These enemies are among the most basic in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, appearing inside every realm except for Dark Star where only N-Zs exist. The Bronto Burts take one strike to be defeated. Lifting a Bronto Burt after inhaling it will make it flap its wings, propelling Kirby into the air for a short while.

Adeleine also draws Bronto Burts in her boss fight.

Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble

File:BrontoBurt TiltnTumble.png Bronto Burts appear in Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble as airborne enemies.

Kirby Air Ride

Bronto Burts appear as generic enemies that Kirby can defeat in Kirby Air Ride. When they spot Kirby, they tend to attempt to follow his movements while staring at him.

Kirby & The Amazing Mirror

Bronto Burts appear in Kirby & The Amazing Mirror in a similar style as from Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land. Nothing is changed between these two games.

Kirby: Canvas Curse

File:BrontoBurt KCC.png Bronto Burts reappear in Kirby: Canvas Curse as again a basic enemy. In this game, as with most enemies, Bronto Burts can be stunned for Kirby to defeat them.

Kirby: Squeak Squad

Again, Bronto Burts appear in Kirby: Squeak Squad. However, nothing differs from their appearance in this game and in Kirby & The Amazing Mirror and Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land.

Kirby's Epic Yarn/Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn

The Yarn form of a Bronto Burt appears many times in Kirby's Epic Yarn. In this game, in addition to standard Bronto Burts, some Bronto Burts carry bombs or even Spear Waddle Dees and drop these on Kirby or Prince Fluff.

Kirby Mass Attack

BrontoBurt StratoPatrolEOS KMA.png Bronto Burts are not as common in Kirby Mass Attack, but they do appear in two subgames: Strato Patrol EOS and Kirby Brawlball. In both cases, they appear as generic enemies that can be defeated.

Kirby's Return to Dream Land

Bronto Burts make a return in Kirby's Return to Dream Land. They function as the same as the previous games. However, they have a stronger version of themselves residing in Halcandra, similar to how Koozers replace Bronto Burts in the previous games.

Kirby's Dream Collection

In addition to appearing in the ported games in Kirby's Dream Collection, Bronto Burts also appear as enemies in the New Challenge Stages Sub-Game.

Kirby: Triple Deluxe

Bronto Burt returns in Kirby: Triple Deluxe, where it takes more advantage of the foreground/background mechanic than most other enemies. It is often seen hiding in bushes or other obstructions in the background, where it will then attempt to charge Kirby, much like it did in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards.

There are also insectoid (more than usual) variants found in the Royal Road level, which presumably serve Queen Sectonia.

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse

Bronto Burts of many different colTemplate:Ours appear in Kirby and the Rainbow Curse. Their colTemplate:Our determines their attack patterns.

Kirby: Battle Royale

Bronto Burts appear in the intro for Dedede's Cake Royale, and are one of the few standard enemies that Kirby can attack in this title. They don't pose much of a threat, and are only really there to let Kirby practice his swordsmanship on the way to the tournament.

In Slam Hockey, a Bronto Burt serves as the referee, and carries contestants knocked out of the arena back in.

Super Smash Bros. series

Super Smash Bros. (64)

Bronto Burt can occasionally appear fluttering in the background on the Dream Land stage. It has no bearing on the actual gameplay, however. This Bronto Burt would reappear alongside each of the stage's re-inclusions in subsequent games in the series.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Bronto Burt appears as a trophy in this game.

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS

Bronto Burts appear as an enemy in the 3DS exclusive Smash Run mode. Here, it behaves much like it did in the Kirby series, flying through the air and occasionally divebombing fighters, dealing moderate damage if the two collide.

These pink, winged enemies come from the Kirby series. In Smash Run, there are three different types floating around: one that flees when a fighter approaches, one that flies sideways, and one that chases fighters. Their spinning attack is weak, but it can cause knock-back if it lands repeatedly. These pink, winged enemies are all over the place in the Kirby series. In Smash Run, there are three different types of Bronto Burt, including one that relentlessly chases after you. Their spinning attack might not deal much damage, but there's a danger you could get launched if it hits repeatedly, so be careful!

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Bronto Burt appears as a Novice-level support Spirit in this game, granting the equipping fighter 'Floaty Jumps', which causes them to fall slower in the air.

This spirit can be obtained in World of Light, in a battle that involves four Pits who favor their side-special move on the Dream Land (64) stage.
